I want to build my own safe

Picrel says it all. I want a sturdy fucking safe to keep cash, dragon dildos etc inside. I don't need it to be fire safe and I can't spend thousands on a quality safe. Any advice? I haven't seen much online about diy safes so I'm assuming it's a difficult or unrealistic project

forgot to mention this in the OP: I'm having a hard time finding a suitable internal lock. I dont care if it's combination or a key, but I want it strong and it needs to be inside the safe (not a padlock thru some rings welded to the outside). Any help? everything online that would work is out of my budget so I'm considering getting something like this and building the rest of the apparatus myself (bolt and whatever else is in a lock)

Best safe is hidden safe. Barring that make the lock electronic solinoid lock or servo deadbolt and tack weld the key hole. Bolt to floor joists and snake wires to another room.

If they get into that then no safe is ...well safe

You can get an Abloy cam lock for around $20 on ebay. Will likely only come with one key, but you might be able to have a duplicate made. Will be much more secure than that lump of pot metal you posted. Of course there are other lock makers that are probably as secure but that was just the first that came to mind.

A safe is just a steel box with a strong lock so its not unrealistic.
Just make sure your welds are good, your hinges are strong and not exposed, and that your lock cant be defeated by a hammer and screwdriver and it should be good.

A safe is only as strong as the weakest part of it so make sure every functioning part is strong enough that you'd bet whatevers in your safe on it.

Also bolt it to the ground with an inch thick bolt or four and no ones getting their hands on your dildos.

Honestly, you can probably build a box out of 2x4 or 4x4 (use real wood joints, not screws) and it'll be as hard to get into as 1/4" or thinner steel safe.

If it takes more then a circular saw to get into, it's pretty much doin the job.

The hard part, as with steel, will be the lock. Probably a good Medeco or Abus lock, plus a big ass latch with 4" toggle bolts, will repel anyone that can't physically pick up the whole safe.

You can't build a safe through which you can't burn with an oxy acetylene torch. Safes are a waste of money. If you honestly had something of worth you would put that shit in a bank lockbox.

If you don't have bars of gold in your house and you just want to bother a person that robs you then go ahead and weld some steel plates (thick as possible) together and build a sturdy closet: machine your own hinges of you can, the rest is pretty self-explanatory.
I would put a ceramic fibre isolation in between two thick plates of steel, just to make it partially fire resistant (24"×12"×1" 2400°F 20$ on amazon) still would burn through with an oxy acetylene torch.
