Kind of what i was thinking. Been looking for an affordable hobby and odly enough shit like that is plentiful. Something like 80% or more of my county is a senior citizen. They all the time are going to a home or dying off. Most of them are "collectors" like me. No idea why. But a few days of labor helping anons clear some inherited stuff out usually means 2 ton of scrap iron, 300 bucks in useful stuff and half a pickup load of shit i want to keep. That in itself is a hobby i guess but manual labor has never been fun. Will try and get better pics and take some more of anything interesting if op doesnt care. They've always produced heaters, just not as well-known for them. That particular piece seems to be a "light industry" application. A warehouse or large sewing room setting. The housing and triple groove along the fan blades made me insta-assume the mighty V. I could be wrong, that wouldn't be shocking.

NOOOOOOO! Electrolysis is for rust removal. Stainless doesn't rust. Furthermore, subjecting it to that process would most likely result in toxic byproduct. Beware.
Prolly not going to relieve it of any of that corrosion. Best bet would be to stick it on the polishing wheel. Nothing too abrasive, maybe a sewn cotton disc + green compound.
Now, for the non-stainless parts, knock yourself out with the reverse electrode process. All in all, looks in pretty good shape.

Agreed. It's odd. I have personally witnessed a RUNNING Pontiac GTO Judge rot to almost nothing. It seems like a horrible waste but when you hear the stories of that being a showroom dream car. Then 3 months latter dad had u and went to war for 25 years it is sentimental af.

They would rather see it rot to ash then sell or give it away.

Sounds insane but i get it.

Personally i would set on shit until it is boarderline trash then sell of give away in hopes to save.

Shit like this makes me happy.

My entire life from birth been a hoarder with only a few rules. Never let it bother your personal life. The second a path forms in a room move it sell it or trash it.

>>Stainless doesn't rust.
Yes it can. Anything metallic can corrode unter the right conditions. 18/10 stainless steel (must kitchen utensils) corrode when exposed to chlorides, to a lack of oxygen or at high temperature applications.
To remove rust from stainless steel you can use baking soda + water and rub it gently with a brush or cloth. Special stainless steel cleaner is another option.
However, depending on the type of corrosion you are facing, you might end up with little to no results because 18/10 stainless steel is often suspect to pit corrosion, meaning you have deep pits "etched" into your material, which you might not be able to clean.
