Anybody use humbrol enamel here for large projects?

Thinking of using it in my airbrush for my cosplay items, but im not sure how good the stuff is for ware and tare.

If you are going to use the paint on a moving suit then it won't last 2 minuets as the paint will harden then shatter if it come in contact with a hard serface.

If it's for painting a sawed or a gun, maybe a hard object then it might last for a couple of uses.

Best bet is to trial pain on a small object and see how it holds up.

I thin it with White Spirit and airbrush it onto models.

I like the Black Gloss as the base for Alclad II.

I think they're pretty robust and hard wearing, much more so than Acrylics anyway.

Like anything surface preparation and proper priming is the key.

Glue that's sniff-proof, and paint that's yiff-proof, now I've seen everything.

that doesn't happen if you put a shot of black in it

Oil based paints take years to "harden".

now I see why you have to result to cosplay, its because you have no education, are 40 years old, still a virgin and live in your moms basement.

Humbrol is great paint for models. Matte, consistent, relatively tough, takes fine detail well. Must thin with solvent tho. For large projects, covering a large area, you'd be better off with a krylon rattle can and careful masking.

Hey now. If you don't tare your wares, how do you expect to get accurate net weights?

They'll be pretty brittle once they harden, but adding a shot of black should give them some flexibility and work just fine.
