Too many shitpost threads, not enough OC. Everyone post shit you have made and rate others work. I'll start with this pair of nunchucks I made today, chopped an old broom handle up, sanded, sealed and fixed chain to handles.

nice. better than fists

I don't have anything that takes pictures but this should be easy enough to understand

small multi purpose hand saw- this is the sort of thing that you don't care what happens to it

materials needed
1 stick
1 reciprocating saw blade
1 hose clamp
1 screw that fits in the hole of the saw blade

use a saw blade to cut a notch in the stick
drill a hole in the side of the stick
put in the blade
put the screw through the hole
put the hose clamp around the top of the stick

I dip the whole thing in used oil. it makes the wood last longer

I did build some raised beds this year from 4x6 treated timbers. They are stacked 2 high in alternating pattern with several TimberLok bolts to hold things tight. Pretty quick and easy to make. Just arranged them on a flat level surface (garage floor), drilled pilot holes, and drove the bolts in with an impact driver. Dig slightly into ground, lay sand and small gravel, level and back fill with planting medium. In this case, a friendly acid medium for azalea.

Also put a water diverter above the shed door to keep the porch from rotting again. Re-shodding and reinforcing the porch was next.

The rotting porch was rebuilt and reinforced. Even when the new boards do eventually get old and weak, there will be a lot less flex. And hopefully less water will drip on these now with more water diverted to the sides.

Are the chains free to rotate at the handles? If not, that may cause the chain to kink when you're stylin' on some niggas. That's why chains are usually attached to ball bearings at the ends. Or instead of chains, use genuine horsehair rope from stallions in Haikkido.

It was really simple, but I did a thing for my old high school fencing team. For meets, individual strips need to be measured out and marked off with tape, which is time consuming and generally a pain in the ass. What I did was basically make a jig for marking the strips, which are 1.5x14m. I cut a 10' length of 1" schd 40 in half and drilled 3/8" holes in the end of each to thread cord through. I spent most of the time measuring the rope, or rather, making a device to do so, based off of something I saw on Instructables using a measuring wheel.

Don't have any pictures now, but there really isn't too much to see. Basically pipes and rope. I've also been helping with weapon and equipment maintenance, which is kind of tricky to start, but gets easier as long as you can deal with very small components.

There are a few projects I really want to get started on, but I've been kind of swamped with work, family, and fencing. First I need to make a table or shelf for my computer, so it can get off the floor and allow for better cable management, then I have to do an engraving for a buddy, and after that I would like to make a little coffee can forge and experiment a bit with smithing. Ongoing projects are cider and mead fermentation and mushroom cultivation. Have even more ideas for the spring, but I really need to just focus and finish one thing at a time.

The 4x4's used to be stacked between new lengths of train track (reads, bottom of the barrel, use once and destroy timber) and were rough as guts till I hit them with some 80 grit on a sander, the bench top used to be the rafters from my in-laws back deck, box steel was work offcut and the bottom rails came off council cleanup. All I paid for was the fixing hardware and the ply for the bottom shelf. Like your sister, she's cheap as fuck and built to take a relentless hammering from whichever man stands before her, not look pretty.

I have a fucking 1/2 line from the main in my shithole house. Harbor freight sells a whole hom water pressure booster.

Maybe with 1 or 2 of those or diy i can pump thos rookie numbers up. Buy or build metal heads and crank that shit up near the 200 psi the pex claims.

Fucking HATE shit water pressure. Nit sure why but it triggers me to no end. Prib2ably stems from my days pulling wells. Takes a fucking hour every night to shower and have to use lava or dawn dish soap and a rag.

Wont be happy until shower is physically to painful to turn on full bore

For the base I used latex foam, which is form fitting and firm, and has a bunch of vertical air holes to keep cool.
The top layer is "buckling column gel" which is shit that's kind of like an ice cube tray with no bottom, kinda squishy, gives support for areas like your lumbar, and is even more cooling due to low contact area. I couldn't order the gel directly so I had to buy several mattress toppers and rip it out of them.

My buddy let me borrow his for lake Braunig. It was fun, but there's an electric only lake called lake Boerne not too far from my house. I figure not having to worry about a carburetor gumming up over winter is one less thing to have to work on so the trolling motor gets me by just fine. I did take her into a bay for a fishing tournament with the motor. Took my nephew up front and towed my sister behind us in her kayak. I was pretty surprised how much you could do with a 10' boat.

The boat is rated for 285 lbs max, however I've had way over that and it worked fine in a lake. Just have to use common sense and communicate your movements. Here's the breakdown of me and my buddy -
I weigh 150
My buddy weighs 190
battery is 60
trolling motor is 40
Plywood, carpet, etc. is about 60
Gear maybe 15 I guess with anchor and all
So 515 in a boat rated for 285. Over weight by 230lbs. It was a low draft but sit in the center and it was fine for an afternoon of fishing. Considering it was a free boat and just needed some elbow grease I can't complain. It's not a speed boat or anything so you can't expect too much. It works really well for a relaxing day of fishing

with these tables, you should add cross beams at the corners, make the bottom heavy as fuck to naturally increase stability, basically add triangle cuts of thick wood/metal to the corners against the top boards/legs and the bottom post/supports. If you store heavy shit on the bottom, it'll not tip over/move easily.

Mine is rock solid, good tight lap joints with stupidly thick-for-the-job timbers are always a good start. I was most worried about lateral (front and back) movement so I glued the top cross members to the legs (red circles), the lower rails and their lap joins into the legs completely eliminate longitudinal (left to right) movement. I can saw timber in the now installed woodwork vice and not have a drop of coffee spill out of my cup. But yeah, if you're already built, diagonal bracing will absolutely help. Remember to re-tighten your bolts every now and then as well, especially if you haven't since you built it. The wood will compress after the initial build, I have re-tightened this thing twice and every time I have gotten a good 270 degrees of rotation out of the bolts due to the timber settling. Seems to have settled for now.

Rabbit is ez-pz, I've done 37 pelts, got them from a lady who raised them for fur hats.

Here's how I do all my hides:
-4 Gal Water
-4 Gal Vinegar
-4 Lbs Salt (I use pool salt, cheap and comes in bulk. NO IODINE SALT.)

Mix it all in a trash can with 2 bags in it, don't rip the bags.
Wash furs thoroughly with some dish soap, rinse just as well.
Soak in pickling solution for 2-3 days (longer risks rotting them)
Remove, rinse thoroughly, toss them in a bucket of water and a good amount of Baking soda (I use one of those through and through fridge packs from the dollar store) for 45 min.
Rinse, dry as best as you can but leave a little damp.

String them up or tack them to a board TIGHTLY.

Buy Trappers Tanning Solution off of Amazon and apply an even coat. Let dry overnight maybe longer.

Work that skin till your arms fall off to make it soft. I do rabbit furs over a rounded end of a 6x6.
To make softer, use Mink Oil. It will make the skin darker, but softer.

I rented a place that had an aluminum jonboat sitting out in the garage and the landlord said I could have it because it was broken.

I filled it with water and it leaked so I left it when I moved.
Ever since then ive kicked myself for not taking it and at least trying to find out why and fix it.

I made a chainmail shirt, winding 1,5mm wire around a pole with a drill, cutting the resulting coil into individual loops and bending the loops together. It provided nice fiddling while watching tv for countless hours, and resulted in a pretty neat piece.

Now then, I have also saved tons of beer can push-tabs with an intention to do chainmail out of them, but since I already have a chainmail shirt, I don't know what piece to do from them. Any ideas?

This is the ultra shitty stand I made for my Harbor Freight Portable Bandsaw, It was the new Bauer branded one.
Fucker broke the first time I used it, returned it and the second one had a really loud whiny motor.

This is a $20 Porter Cable Portaband I bought on Ebay and throw gear oil and a new cord on, its beat but its nicer than the harbor freight one.
This is the first time Ive decided to use it on a table instead of handheld so I threw it into the stand I made and it didnt fit at all. I just used a strap to hold it on and it worked fine for now. Ill be making a new stand soon.

Nice man looks really good, jealous of that Mercury. Mine was free so I can't complain, but if I was spending my own money for a shell I wouldn't buy anything less than 12 foot. I checked out the 10' boats at Academy and holy hell they're tiny. The seats are so wide that you get no legroom. I don't know why they make them that wide, it's a huge waste of space considering the boat is already small. See pic related, my seats are skinnier and it gives me about 1 foot of extra legroom where I can stretch, store more gear by me, etc. Have you considered cutting a hole in your casting deck and adding a door? Definitely have a lot of space under there for storage. She looks good bro, happy fishing.

>>1327864
Damn dude that sucks, I guess hindsight is 20/20 and all. I suspended the boat too with 5 gallon buckets and filled it with water. Anywhere I saw it leaking I circled with a marker. Let it set overnight for good measure and checked it again the next day for more leaks. I put marine grade JB Weld on the leaks and all of the rivets. The rivet leaks were all tiny, like a few drops of water but still I wanted it all patched just in case. The primer and paint help seal it a little as well. You'll get it next time

Pic related is the 6 I made drying after a couple coats of varathane. I tried out spray varathane on these, I noticed it takes about 3 spray coats to equal one brush coat, but the results can be just as good. I wish I'd done another dozen coats or so with a little more sanding in between, but that wasn't really an option with the amount of time I had since these were for christmas and I only got the felt in on Christmas Eve, I was out delivering them on Christmas morning.

>>1332183
Haven't really considered it, dice towers tend to be much more of a ballache to get right, and I'd have to make 6 of them. Would've also nearly doubled the cost of the project since I actually got away with only using one 1"x6"x8' piece of walnut.
Last thing is that I didn't want them to be too bulky since some of the guys take their bikes or ride the bus to meetings which means they only have a backpack to carry their stuff in. I might try my hand at a dicetower in the future to see how it goes though.

>>1332191
In my case I didn't need to draw any straight lines, I got the idea in my head of how it would come together and I let the tools take care of making the straight lines. A big part of it is also practice, I've done some other small projects with my dad at his shop and he's been a really good resource for me. There's a lot of tutorials on the basics of wood working if you're interested in it.
