I've collected quite a bit of experimental data from a hobby of mine (RC aircraft) I was thinking about making it into a book and publishing it. Do you think it would make shekels?

What type of data? And what type of birds are you flying?

>> No.1298855

Yeah for sure, a couple of years back I was suuuper into that stuff. Just don't forget to mention a military jet engines powered rc model. Those are sooo coool. Or rc planes powered by combustion engines.
And good advice is hard to find especially when you have to deal with all this expensive gear.
Try to mention drones too, those are hot right now

Are we a fucking book publisher? How should we fucking know how much money you can make? Go to amazon and look at those book sales you faggot who's too stupid for internet.

Mainly propeller efficiencies on a variety of motors at a range of power inputs. Also some stuff on extra lift from ducting and measured energy density of commercial lipos.
>>1298855
Ok I will. I mainly use electric but I'll add in a chapter for gas.

Calm down anon.

As well as the data there is some theory on how to calculate flight times, max payload etc using the data. It's quite complex, calculus etc. But I want the book to appeal to a wide range of people so that's a difficulty.

Make a summary of the types of data you've collected, what they were collected on, and how you ensured they are trustworthy and offer it to NASA, USAF, or Google. They're doing lots of exploration everyday into small scare drones and aircraft and may buy your data and offer you to consult for them

Surely it's too basic for them?

If you get any sort of response you could turn the conversation into an application for a job with them collecting big boy measurements.

I'd love to see a video of that plane taking off and flying, and then crashing. and then his reaction.

even better if some dronetard tried to get some great video and got sucked into an engine causing the crash.

Put your data into software instead and sell that. I know some serious model airplane makers and they'd probably appreciate a program that does those calculations for them (especially if it requires calculus or differential eqns).
