alright /diy/kes,
let's see some Working Steampunk stuff, cause gluing gears to crap just doesn't cut it.

pic related some goggles with iris' mounted in the lense to help focus light when working on tiny things. pretty cool cause it really does help make things clearer

Obligatory Cake Beaton.

Although that idea might not be so far fetched... it's sort of silly. It would be great to see actual steam powered diy nonsense in this board, like coal operated steam motorbikes, or steam boolean logic circuitry. Just a thought.

Or go to deviantart.com and search for steampunk goggles. They are not so hard if you have the materials.

I really want to make a set of steam punk GLASSES that I could get lenses.

Does anyone know where to get the magnifying lenses like in the pic in Australia?

I knew it! Those are damn sweet btw.

I actually have some glasses that are a lot like those but I didn't make them. My neighbor found them in his attic one day and gave them to me as a birthday present. No camera or i'd post a pic.

I've always had a fascination with Victorian-style steampunk. I made a leather bracer one time with a few gears on it that turned when i moved my wrist up and down but i forgot all about it as soon as the next hobby came around

That toy normally is driven by one motor and annoying set of gears that are all meshed by the joysticks. Dude replaced it with a steam engine. It's a straight up steam powered robot hand.

There are two boards that I've found very unpleasant, just full of really horrible people, and that's /jp/ and /cgl/.

I'm guessing, from the tone of this board, that there are a fair few elegan/tg/entlemen here. This is a good thing.
