Can anyone show me an example of a product that matches the working mechanics of the pivoting point near his hand when he opens it

>> No.1187157

How it works is obvious, just watch each hinge point one at a time.

No product I know of uses this setup because it offers no functional advantages and is clearly a pinch hazard if you don't hold it properly when operating. Take your time to study it.

It's very cool art but not good for a security door because it isn't particularly strong.

Not very well, unless it's to keep out elephants. Even then they could probably breach the weakened hinge points.

Would have to be some sort of multi-axis hinge, most likely custom fabricated for the application.

Or possibly just a ball joint, which would be simpler.

More importantly than that, you can't even close it from the inside.

The other significant problem is that it can only be used in a 2:1 ratio opening. A standard 80-inch height interior door in this style has to be 40-inches wide to work this way. And you then need an additional 40-inch of wall for it to "open" over that doesn't include any outlets or switches that it would collide with.

So it has all the negatives of a pocket door while having a very fixed size.

das sexy

Wonder how it will stand up to the 6,000,000 mph winds we get round bouts here.
