i want to build a bike generator, but all the diy vids i see make it obvious that you have to constantly pedal to power anything. is there a way to store the electricity i create, instead of it all getting used immediately?

flat out at your hardest possible pedaling, you'll be putting out about 250W. You'll only be able to geep that up a few seconds.
Continuously, you can usefully put out 60-80 or so if you're in shape.

So, like, you can charge a cell phone in half an hour or so, or run an oven... if you get 15-20 friends.
