Looking for some Good plans build a Crystal Radio.
As much detail as possible such as how to build coil would be appreciated.
Also, are there other 'Powerless' (crystal) radios that on can build other than the AM band?
Any information would be mutely appreciated.

Crystal sets are pretty much restricted to AM. They can't demodulate FM or other types of modulation. A long wire antenna is critical. The longer, the better.
You used to be able to buy kits for these things.

God Mode:

During WW II, allied POWs in German prisoner of war camps built operating crystal radios from improvised parts. If you can do that too, then you truly deserve a /diy/ Gold Star.

The old Boy Scout merit badge manual had a project for a crystal radio that even used a hand made capacitor. Coils can be wound on an oatmeal box. Crystal radios can be tuned to receive shortwave. Lots of the parts can be obtained from Radioshack including the diode that can be used in place of the galena crystal and the cats whisker. In addition to the long wire antenna you will also need a ground and a high impedance earphone. regular earphone wont cut it without an amplifier. Google Antique Electronic Supply.
