I know i was sitting down smoking for the video. the thing is gimped hard right now. In teach mode, max speed I can get is 50% and the axis that would fucked me up is the one that crashes the robot. When ever the Forarm joint (joint U) moves enough the robot faults and needs to be reset. its the the most fucking crutial joint as it is key for getting any kind of reach on the robot.

Pic is of the 2 servo packs which each run 3 servo drives. They run on some kind of PWN pulse frequency or something Im still trying to figure out how I can reuse these servo packs for a custom controller.
I jiggle these wires (white/manilla ones are the encoder), plug them back in, reset the robot, reset the minor alarm and then shes good to go again for a little but.

No, it's a piece of mechatronics equipment. I would be EXTREMELY surprised to learn that there's _anything_ inside it that uses 220V 60Hz 3-phase power. What I would expect would be the 3-phase to be immediately rectified and filtered into DC to feed the power supply, which then provides power to everything else.

Even assuming you were unable to just feed it single-phase (this isn't uncommon for power supplies accepting 3-phase, since, again, it's immediately rectified anyway), it probably would have been cheaper to simply BUY several different DC power supplies at whatever voltages the original PSU provided. Can't imagine it provided more than 3, MAYBE 4 for some weird reason.


Reason I mention it is that, to even mess with this thing, OP must have at least some level of competency on the subject. I'm curious as to why either he didn't already know this or, more interestingly, why replacing the PSU wasn't a viable option.

What AC servo drivers are are VFAC drives. In a nutshell, they modulate voltage, current, frequency, and commutation sequence in order to get the desired motion out of the motors. They might have their own rectifier/filter in them (this is typically the case with standalone units), but, ultimately, they take a steady DC source at some point and use PWM to supply the motors with 3-phase power of varying parameters.

It may not, necessarily, have been trivially easy to supply them off of a single-phase or DC line, although the only thing I can think of that would cause serious problems there is if it's a unit that's sealed or potted. It may also be the case that you don't have the necessary electronics experience to attempt it (mains power is not something to fuck with if you don't know what you're doing), but still, it should at least be theoretically possible.


I'd give it a shot if it were me, but electronics is my hobby so I would be able to avoid completely destroying it. Probably.

Ok, so my encoder issue I "fixed" it.
The jointU (joint3) on my robot which is third from the bottom. It was having some kind of encoder signal drop during some/any movements of the joint. When it would alarm out, I would jiggle the cables, reset the alarm jiggle reset the machine and it would work.

Took off the side panel to where that motor is. Cut all the strain relief(its on an axis that doesnt really move) took out the connector and re plugged it in, jiggled some wires. turned it on, reset it, then back on and

Correct. I'm assuming "THM" is "thyristor module", though it obviously also rectifies the 3-phase and I can't really determine exactly why there's a thyristor in there. I can only assume it's for under-voltage lockout or something.

Given the diagram, it looks like you could simply apply 200-230V to the first and third power terminals (the ones that also feed the MAIN CIRCUIT OFF/ON switches and CN7) and it should work. 240V is technically within the +10% stated tolerance, but I'd check the actual line voltage to make sure it wasn't any higher than that. No idea if the level detector (attached to CN10) would take issue with the missing phase or not, though, unfortunately, my suspicion is that it would.

Sounds more-or-less about right.

The main reason these robots are so potentially dangerous to be around is not that they're extremely strong (though they can be), is that they're extremely HEAVY. Really look at the size of that arm, and consider that it's mostly steel. Even if it's not moving that fast, even a just a few pounds of dumbbell is gonna hurt if it smacks you upside the head. Now imagine it's 50-500lbs of robot arm moving at 2m/s or so, and you can see how one of these things can give you some serious injuries if it bumps into you.

LOOK AT THESES FUCKING ENCODERS HOLY SHIT.
With the way these encoders are I have to re solder or splice wires wires together to the encoder because the faulty parts of the harnesses(joint 1 and joint3) are attatched to the motors. The robot works kinda fine when I remove the encoder housing and there is no strain on the cable. The actual encoder batteries (theres one in the main controller which was dead so I replaced with a cell phone battery) are 2 fat ass capacitors a 1 farad, 5.5v cap. Ive replaced one already on the main I/O board so Ive got like 15 spares if these ones fuck off on me. I want to rewire theses encoders with a db15 connector to make dis assembly easier . I just dont know the best way to go about this. Desolder all the original wires from the encoder, or cut them al;l up and crimp on the db15 terminals.

what does it mean when im using my multi meter to check continuity, I have the plug end with one probe and im touching the board contacts with the other.

I touch one contact on the board and it makes the normal sound , shows a reading all good.

I touch another contact and nothing happens, like normal, all looks good

I then touch it to another contact, the multi meter makes a new noise, and the screen goes dead until I let go of the contact, the multi meter returns back to normal.

Assuming you get a straight-through (patch) serial cable with the DB15 connector attached, it's going to be easier to solder to the board. Soldering wires to the solder cups on a DB connector is a pain in the ass. Plus you're guaranteed to be replacing the faulty part of the cable.

I would assume you're touching something connected to the terminals of the capacitor, and that's out-of-ranging the continuity tester.

If you are desperate for sex design the sexdoll with a pouch for a fleshlight or any sex toy to be inserted and just hump your woes away at the chunk of bioplastic that you have created.
The only issue is setting of the bioplastic and how long does it last before it starts to degrade. Some additional research is required for the durability.

Such approach has one advantage, you get to make your sexdoll to look as something you want, such as something from vidya, morrigan aensland, that blue woman from halo, lara croft, anything really. I figured out how to program the robot this weekend. So, i made a first chain saw program, then a sex bot program. When I figure out how to do sub routines and loops n shit then it will be a cleaner sex bot robotjob.
I had a problem though, I couldnt run programs because it said my safety guard was open. fuck. found an old as fuck manual scan that had a wiring diagram to bypass the safety guard. I wire it up, power on, mother fucking electricity noise and smoke. i unwire it, nothing looks fried, i boot back on and it works fine no more safety guard shit.

OP i fully support what you are doing, HOWEVER, i work with many robots very similar to the one you are playing with. The robot cells are ALWAYS caged with expanded metal so not even fingers can be inside the cell during operation. The only way to enter the cell is to open a door that has an emergency stop interlock to the robots. Id suggest selling yours and buying a much smaller arm for what you are doing. Like tabletop size, one that couldnt punch a hole through your pelvis. Its not like you have 6 feet of dick to stroke. that a funny idea. to make the video i had to override software movement limits.

Also, video is way more shaky than the end of arm tool should be. This is because it is not lagged to the floor. it is sitting atop some 4x4s so in some spots the robot is liable to wobble and maybe teeter lol .

Ok, so when the video goes dark , thats the robot right up against the ESTOP button. it hits the estop. it then kills power to the servo amplifiers . To start the robot again I have to move the arm manually. Some of the axis have brakes on them. so it the robot pins me down(and alarms). 2 of the six axis will apply brakes.
after i move it manually,like by hand, the next part i power the servos back on, clear the estop and moving the robot.

The other video is 2 cell phones tapped to the robot recording both angles. I only have the video for one angle right now.

this is a link to a repo for a (open source?) program(?) a california(lol) hackerspace wrote for their robot. It is a virtual serial floppy drive emulator. to use real floppys to transfer robot files, i would need a special robot serial floppy giant fucking expansive computer box. or some non OEM floppy drive/usdfloppy emulator /harddick floppy emulator emulator or buy the OEM software/third party software to communicate with the robot controller . It is one model older than mine but it i think it uses same serial protocol

I have a floppy emulator for my fanuc and I only used it once to reload the firmware after some flash got corrupted. You don't really need to do the programs on the computer, should be able to program anything from the teach pendent.

Just make interchangeable mounts for fleshlights and dragon dildos. Alright, so assuming you do get this thing to work properly - wouldn't this be a terrible idea without force responsiveness?

I mean, if you've got a set fucking program, it's only going to work if your dick in a specific - to within millimeters - location and at the proper angle.

(Possibly you could mitigate this for a fleshlight by manually setting the location of the fleshlight to fit onto your dick, and then the program oscillates it up and down from the position it's currently at. But even then you'd want force sensitivity to ensure it doesn't try to shove the fleshlight a few inches into your pelvis)

And for fucking your ass, it's much worse - in that case, comfort / not puncturing your intestines will be dependent on angle and the position you're staying in, as these affect the angle and the way your poop-chute bends. It will be crucially important to stop thrusting if the arm encounters even small increased amounts of resistance, and it will need to be pliable such that it moves with your own movement.

(On the other hand, some people get use out of linear-actuator no-sensor fucking pistons, so perhaps that's not as big of an obstacle as I think.)

I heavily suspect that a design like that *cannot* be safely or comfortably made into a sex robot - you'd want back-driveable (so it can move with your body as you push and pull the effector around), and elastic actuators more similar to the ones on a Baxter.

It doesn't take much to severely damage tissue that fragile. 10psi could do some serious harm.

That being said, soft robots like that are generally controlled with volume, not pressure. A break in the material vents what's already in there and that's it. Additionally, the nature of soft robots puts in place a very high factor of safety, because the amount of pressure required to rupture the actuator is usually much greater than what's necessary to max out the force it can normally exert.

Im gonna say the opposite. this week i was doing a lot of.....research..... on fucking machines and the like., and the help of /d/.

If i dont use a rigid knife dildo and use an actual floppy rubber type one, it should just auto align it self into the holes. If it is long enough and I have the support brackets proper, it should just slide in and bend to the proper angle that their holes line up to in my hentai sex chair with restraints. the dildos will just maneuver into the proper holes and not punch new ones out. i could probably get away with not having to adjust the (double) dildo program.

ok, I found a suspect wire. spliced in a new section where it looked bad and booted her up.

She worked for a little bit, then i had to keep jiggling. there is a section of wire that was A LOT harder/stiffer than any other section, this section of the wire was the part not covered by parts of the robot, like one the outside section of the robot. I jiggled that section and shes going good again. I think somewhere in that stiff section is where its fucked because the wires in the strain relief part all look good now after the one was replaced.

Last weekend I set up a tool point center and made the new bracket for the saw, but could not test because wire was fucking up too much.

This week I re origined all my axis using the alignment marks on the robot. She is now moving in sexy ways around the tip of tool and I can finally get it to move proper in straight lines about the tool.

This is all I can say. If you feel like getting hard core with the programing and design, you might be able to rig up a few sensors to detect how close this thing is to a person/surface, and path around it. But a far easier safety mechanism would be to mount the "business end" on an assembly of springs/pistons that can flex 6 inches or so in any direction, with a few lbs of resistance. That way, you will have a good margin of error with the motion and force, [spoiler]and it will let you position your self against it differently for each program [spoiler]

I'd love on of these in the workshop as a helping hand for moving heavy parts.

DIN is just a standard rail mount, if all your doing with this monstrosity is trying to fuck yourself to death you can use simple toggle switches to feed a 24V signal into the inputs unless this thing requires some stupidly high amperage which I kinda doubt.

The relay outputs are likewise somewhat useless as your really aren't using this thing to trigger any other processes.

Perhaps (I fucking actually really hope) I don't understand the thinking behind this thing.

Industrial-strength fuck, I tell you what.

As someone who works with robots and is in the design stages of my own machine, i have a few recomendations.

1. "Work holding"
- The user of the equipment will need some kind of seating/support. This will not only position them but will also prevent the from being injured (falling over/out). I would recomend that you look into Birthing/Gynocological equpment, a used one shouldn't cost too much. As for restraing the operator, you should look into basic bdsm restraints. Personaly I will be using a small jacuzzi for my seating and electro-maganets for my restraints.

2. "Tool Changers"
- Given the need for different sized and types of tooling, I would recomend that you look into tool changers. The Vac-U-Loc system should be able to handle simple changes (dildo to buttplug), but for the more complex changes (dildo to that tounge thing) you will need a more proper tool changer. Most commercial robotic tool changers are going too be way to precise and way too expensive. You your application, something as simple as a post with a hole, and a pin on a small pneumatic cylinder should work.

3. "Fluids"
- Very early in my design work I realizeed that I wold need to deal with multiple fluids. IMHO there agoing to be three types of fluids.
1. Fluids needed for the robot. (Grease, oil, etc.)
2. Fluids needed for the user. (KY, etc.)
3. Fluids produced during the process. (Cum, piss, etc.)
The first and third fluid can be dealt with by wraping the robot in plastic, either a commercial washdown wrap or a DIY substitute.
The seccond fluid will require a dispensing system of some sort. For the mostpart there are two ways of dispensing fluid, pump it or push it. I personaly prefer to push the fluid, as it is a more flexable approch. You should be able to put together a very good system with parts from harbor freight. To get a good handle on how to dispensing sytems work, lookup EFD.
