Anyone make small stuff out of junk?
Here is a Matrix ship made out of a superglue tube cap, pins, sprue, a Christmas light socket and some small beads.

>> No.68416

that's beyond cool

>> No.68443

I used to do this all the time. I stopped because I just lost interest I guess.
My top build was a miniature Gauss Cannon using parts from a busted Pellet Gun.
No picture because it's gone now ;_;

When I was younger I made whole cities out of old rusted over bolts and nuts. Some of the rusting looked amazing after they had been there awhile, and they all had a major "weapon".
One was a broken umbrella, with each of its pulley's acting (which I eventually added) mini lasers. Haven't done it in a long while though, also bump.

You mean something like this op?

Also if I remember correctly, the models made for some of the ships in Star Trek TNG were kinda made like this. I think one of the shuttle crafts had modified disposable razors for it's nacells.

Awesome. Kudos!!

The old school special effects term for gluing bits from life into models is called greeblies (as in"it's nice but throw some greeblies on it and get back to me"). Like ice trays on coolers w/christmas lights for power supplys in aliens, to the bazooka joe bubble gum lining the bottom of darth vaders tie fighter. So much is just custom built now if not outright digital... sad

The base was a small plastic Easter jelly bean shaped container, it was rounded on top and had a flat cover on the bottom. I added small strips of styrene sheet for detail. The eye stalks were made from fine wire wrapped over a larger wire. A small piece of tape held in the eyes that are small silicon desiccant beads (the kind you find in packages that say DO NOT EAT). Here's another made the same but in yellow.

As a poor artist sometimes you have to make due with what you have. Like this made from cardboard and tape, the logo was printed out and glues on.

EVEN THE SHIPS HAVE PAULDRONS

>> No.75351

Ships are cool and inventive, same with those robots.

I was thinking of making some warhammer style figurines out of the bones of small birds, I'd paint them up steel like and make a necron-inspired army.

I don't really care about making it game legal but that would be a nice bonus.

Anyone made stuff from bone before?

>> No.75407

wear a respirator if you are filing, machine cutting or sanding bone, inhaling bone dust is extremely hazardous to your health. Also it fucking stinks and you'll have to wash your hands repeatedly to get the smell off.
