Is there a trick to drilling holes in electrical conduit? I'm doing a weekend project that requires drilling 1/4inch holes in 3/4inch conduit and I can't for the life of me do it. I tried making a wooden jig but that didn't help at all.

The drill I'm using is probably 15 years old but it's pretty powerful. Do I need a certain kind of bit?

Use this, vise the conduit to keep it from moving, drill pilot hole with 1/8" bit or smaller first with a variable speed drill, do it slowly until you get the hang of it, widen hole to 1/4" with 1/4" bit. Repeat.

This, and start with a center drill too if you can find one. Makes life much easier as they don't have any flex. If you can get a drill press as well, you'll find yourself pretty damn golden.
