Now I got depressed. The bbq deck I built for my uncle some years back was destroyed when he burned down the building which it was attached to.

The factory in which I built a shelter for some unexpectedly sensitive 'outdoor' machinery, got sold, closed and mostly demolished a year back.

The treehouse I built for the neighborhood kids was destroyed apparently out of sheer spite when a new road was built ten yards from it.

The bbq pit and awning I built for the neighborhood was demolished because one neighbor was sure it was used as a shelter for 'hanky panky'.

The firewood shed I built for myself had a tree fall on it a year ago during a storm and I still can't do a damn thing about it because the insurance whatever still hasn't been around to check it.

The lawnmower shed I built had it's roof cave in a few weeks back when some kids jumped onto it from a higher roof.

The concrete ramp I poured in front of the old bunker housing the building services was demolished and carted off a few weeks ago while the new geothermal systems were being installed.

...I think I need a drink.

Yes ivan.
Deck is kill.
Treehouse is kill
BBQ pit is kill
Shed is kill twice!
Even concrete ramp is kill.

But tungsten carbide. Tungsten carbide shed is not kill. Tree falls on tungsten shed? Tree is kill like western stick house. Neighbor tries to demolish? Neighbor is kill, he won't hurt it before I see him. Earthquake? Shed is too low. Useful energy source found underneath shed? Shed is move. Only takes four forklifts or three strong Ukrainian person.

Not to derail, but I was looking to specialize in this type of trade through the the united brotherhood of carpenters union. Is this a legit organization or a slavery scam? I've been doing non unionized carpentry for 2 years as an individual contractor with no formal training and am looking for some real qualifications.

This was the place i'm looking to join. They state its a 4 year program starting with 1/2 pay rate.

I built genie z-45's in the factory on an assembly line. A cheap one (no options, 2 wheel drive, etc.) brand new will be about 70,000$. Used? i dont know, look craigslist? i see them for sale on the side of the interstate all the time.

I'm not certain on how qualifications work in the US, but a 4-year apprenticeship is more or less the norm where I am, unless you can get RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) credit.

I was gonna say that the wooden 1:60 scale model of the space shuttle I made had survived, but then I remembered that my nephew on his last visit thought it was great kindling.

Gonna remove him from my will after christmas.

Yeah, I think nothing I've made in the last 30 years is intact.

I'm was going to rebuild the canopy over my veranda the coming year, the wooden pillars have gotten cracked in the last fifty year.

This thread got me thinking I'm gonna replace all the wooden structures with stainless steel and weld it all into the steel girders I reinforced the house with a few years back.

>lady next door has very slim steps. my feet dont fit on a step
>slip hazard
>solid concrete steps
>want to install wood overlays with an over step(that bit that hangs over the next step kind of like a lip that hangs over
what would be the best way to install a wooden step over concrete steps? I was hoping that I could just cut and route steps to fit and maybe concrete anchors to hold the wooden panels in place. how would I make the screws hiden? best place to fix the wooden panels to the steps? or is there some kind of wood to concrete glue that would work? also they are internal steps.

You mean the measurements of each section? It's 13,5m by 10m outside measurements. We divided it up in 3 sections of 4,5m, so the middle section is a tid bit larger than the outer sections. Mid section between beams is 4,32m outer section is 4,23m between beams.
