im currently finishing up a documentary project thats been on my plate for about a year and a half and one of the last things i have to shoot is a sequence where a specific symbol is lit on fire. i think getting a couple gallons of rubber cement would be the most cost effective and simple way to draw the symbol on the ground. not sure where im going to shoot it though, been thinking along the lines of vacant parking lots or unused plots of asphalt along a railroad- dont know how to do this with assurance that the cops wont be sicked on me though haha. was curious if anybody had any experience calling around to places like junkyards or private warehouses, to have somebody conduct a controlled burn for 20 minutes or something like that. prospects seem pretty grim, dont think people feel good about having somebody come over to their property and start a fire but idk.
anybody have thoughts?

Dont do this on asphault, you might damage it. Do it on cement/concrete or bare ground.

Can you do it small scale, or does your shot require it to be full size?

doesnt have to be huge, but shouldn't be so small its unimpressive. maybe 4 feet long 1 or 2 feet across

maybe paint the rubber cement on an old sheet of plywood and do the shot in your backyard.
