Useing the nutdriver and hexwrench to install 450+ tipjacks made for a long day. I got an 'lectric screwy, installed a nice hex to Jacob's chuck adapter, then to hex key.

I used 18 AWG TFE for alll the pwr wiring. Prolly overkill given expected currents, but I'm like that! Main power +28VDC, secondary power 110VAC, 400Hz (if you can believe that?).

The black connectors on the "back" are ITT--Cannon ZIF connectors "zero insertion force", I pulled the datasheet on the and they are discribed as hemaphrodidic, both male and female gendered connectors. I thought that was a little bit different and wanted to mention...

Each crimp is to a 26 AWG TFE stranded, I visually inspect at 5x and manually insert crimped contact individually.

...This could take some time!

The main thing hete is wire length. Even 1/4" too long or short will cause problems when dressing your wire bundle.

I like to use waxed nylon tape for lacing, but that will come later.

Mind your wire lengths and bend radii!

Here shows the holes are within a few thousandths. What you are judging is the variations of stamped (cheapest) sloder terminals. When ordered (not be me... and under counted... again, not by me) the decision was made to get the lesser priced part, vs. the machined, metal threaded parts. This gave some trouble as the molded plastic threads would easily cross thread. I tried to keep all my torques consistant, but the variations of the cheaper parts determined when the backing nuts stopped.

'Sides, missalinged backing nuts is a petty critique. Sorry if that's harsh, they are on the inside after all and I did align the front hex flats!

That layout jig is nice!

For those that haven't used one, I run it down to the presicion ground granite surface plate and zero the dial caliper. You can the run it up to desired hight +\- 0.0005" and score your mark. The blue layout spray aids visual contrast and helps reduce the depth of scoring for less disfigurement of your peice.
