STAIN REMOVERS WANTED!!

I have purple marker (not sharpie) in many places on 100% cotton fabric I'm using to make a dress. The stains have been on the fabric for a few days and I have no idea how to get them out.

Pic related: picture of fabric I'm using and the marker stains on it.

>> No.56490

What kind of marker is it, then?

Generally warm water and soap will take out "crayola" washable markers.

You can use acetone nail polish remover if it's "permanent" marker - just do a spot test to make sure the color is solid (it should be, but never know)

>> No.56500

First of all I'm curious why you appear to be making a cat dress?

Secondly were you drawing out a pattern looks like the corner of a bodice?

My friend saw the fabric at the store I work at and she said she wanted me to make us matching dresses out of it. Yes, I was drawing the corner of a bodice. I traced my friend's size with a marker, then had to change the position of the piece.

So should I try the previous suggestions anyway?

>> No.57215

I have learned over the years that almost all stains will come out. That said however they call it permanent marker for a reason. Maybe you should consider investing in sewing friendly markers?

I have found that vinegar and ammonia tend to dissolve most things. Vinegar will neutralize anything that is organic based. As far as I know it also doesn't alter anything that is non organic.

If that doesn't work OP you are kinda cute. I might be willing to come visit and try to manually remove the stain for you. You would of course have to be wearing the article of clothing for this method to work.
