So my sink is leaking. It is leaking from where the plug's "female end" connects to the base of the sink. I was thinking plumbers putty would probably be a quick fix for this, but I wasn't sure what the proper one would be. I was hoping one of you might have some tips or something (any plumbers?)

Proper one? Get some plumbers putty, take the drain out, scrap off the old putty, roll out lines of putty and apply to the drain, reinstall, clean up the excess.

Don't forget the duct tape. Rolls and rolls of it, just to be sure.
