Goodday /diy/,
I've been working on a Pipboy3000 model that fits around my arm. I'm kind of a simpleton when it comes to diy projects though so my project came to a stop. I'm searching for a way that I can place it around my arm and keep in in place. I've placed a hinge at the top side. I have tried hook-and-loop fasteners but those aren't strong enough to withstand the movement of my arm.
Any suggestions on how to fix this ? Thanks in advance.

Vacuum seal it to your arm like a real pip boy.
They'll have trouble removing it from your corpse though.
Rather gruesome.
In all seriousness though the only way your probably gonna to get it to stay still on your arm is either strap it on really tight or use some kind of skin safe adhesive.

Strap and use foam to remove wobble.

>> No.495249

Make the inside a friction-y fabric or rubber so it doesnt slide around and have two tiny latches on the outside or a little peg-clip assembly where the closing sides meet.

looks like theres enough room to drill holes and add magnets to each side

when I worked for fed-ex, they had computer scanners that we wore on our arms to scan each package as we put them in trailers. I would find the piece the mounted those scanners onto our arms and use that.

to add... it pretty much felt like a wrist guard you'd wear for rollerblading

Soo... where's the computer gonna fit?

Wouldn't work out. Hand doesn't fit through the end side and it would be to loose around the arm.

>>496274
Might do that in the future, for now I'll stick a lame printed picture of the interface there...

I have looked around for pegs and those seem to do fine. Thanks for the help.

I don't recall. I was more interested in the physical construction and less on the software side.

Foam. Then tighten with straps till no longer loose.

It's not my build. I just saved the images from an earlier thread.
I don't remember how he did it, but I don't think it would be hard to make a holder for a pen light of some sort. Just a couple of elastic loops for the light to slip into.

A lot of those battery packs have 1 LED flashlights built in for some reason, it looks like that one does too.
