Hello. I would like to get a thread going with the topic: Vigilante/hero.-> This means, I would like information on what skills a guy who roams the streets would need (for example, lockpicking, smoke grenades, etc). Or, you know, gadgets and tools and skills a man could learn (interested in lockpicking, for instance. Oh, and creating an utility belt/gadgets. O don't intend on acting like a vigilante. I just want the skills, you know?

and for example, how to make fire and how to make a projectile gun.

>>365064

why would a vigilante need to be able to pick locks

Dunno, but Batman has them and he's a vigilante. Maybe B&E for evidence?

that seems nice. Any info on how to make something similar?

Do you mean the utility belt or just the lockpick set from the utility belt?

>> No.365134

>>365119

can be both, but I was talking about making the belt.

i dont know yet, he looks like a pretty cool guy that is not afraid of anything. But he oftens offer to send info trough mail in vigilante threads and alike, so i got curious.

get a new mail account and send him a mail if you are serious about it, what is the worst that can happen? mail hacked? gay spam? my mail has being around here since the beggining of /diy/ and believe, i have a lot less mail than i tought. much less harassing or troubles. In other words, nothing to lose fella.

It a good-intentioned back-woods website. Piling all that info in one, publicly accessible place does more harm than good. Imagine, you're the enemy of a vigilante and you come across a database of all his or her tactics, gear, training...it's just too risky IMO.

I had an interest in lock-picking myself.
Since I didn't want to spend money on a kit, I made a very simple torsion wrench and rake pick from paperclips/other bendable pieces of thin wire.

They're quite tricky to use since they are just diy parts, but they're still very functional.

ITT: How to get yourself arrested and/or killed.
This ain't the movies. You can't do this shit in real life with no consequences. If it's just cosplay shit then OK, but if serious? GTFO.

Yeah if you're a complete moron and believe that what Batman does is feasible, sure.

Honestly if somebody thinks they can take on an entire gang of ruffians by themselves, no matter how well-trained, then they pretty much deserve to be killed.

But if you see somebody trying to break into a store or a house or something, and you have the training, why not help out another person?

What if somebody were breaking into your house? Just one person, but they had a gun. They take you and your family completely by surprise and you can't fend them off. All of a sudden some masked individual barges in, subdues the crook, and runs off into the night. You'd be pretty damned grateful.
