Yeaahhh. The pop filter over my Behringer condenser mic is an old sock.

It makes for lovely broadcast grade AM audio on the air though.

I've been meaning to make one using an embroidery hoop with panty hose or perhaps thicker material stretched over it.

I like the /dir/ spirit, but I would be surprised if you aren't shorting yourself.

Nice choice of mic there. Blue Yeti/Yeti Pro?

Pic related. Has to use a Shure SM58. Vocalist is pissed as fuck.

What might be these "Appropriate accessories"? I've got real pop filter, and a real mic stand on my list, is there anything else?

Decent hardware for it (both the amp and the "in" you're using to record) good pop filter, good software, extremely good shockmount, for the easy stuff.

After that comes that come soundproofing and such. My main issue is when the AC unit turns on/off, plays hell with my recordings because I don't record in my ghetto studio, but in my room with my PC, guitar, and mixer.

tl;dr
Shockmount + real pop filter for starters

Well for starters, I'd like to hear about that Software. Waht do you suggest? I'm currently using Audition with ASIO4ALL.

As for that, I wish I could help. I burned up my input on my PC not knowing what I was doing, now I use my (IMHO vastly superior) Tascam Portastudio, which allows me to record, mix, and dub on the same machine.
Wish I could help there.
What are you recording (pure curiosity, doubt I can give you any real input)

Ah, just doing Voice Acting n' shit, it's a hobby.

Well the best of luck to you. I understand the pinch of good hardware being expensive, so you try to save where you can. If using your PC, make sure your sound card can do what you're trying to (just because it says 'line in' doesn't mean you can't fry it, learned that one) and software is *mostly* free if you are so inclined.

My only experience is music production, so the portastudio is worth it's weight in gold. But if you are just recording a voice, I'm sure you can find the right hardware for you PC on the cheap.

The Blue Yeti (not pro version) uses USB so you can't use an AMP as far as I am aware.

just so you know

the blue yeti has a built in pop filter and adding an additional one will actual dampen your sound because you're adding an unnecessary barrier. so what you built it literally useless

feel free to look that up for yourself.

No, the Yeti does not have a built in pop filter. While the mesh around it might be a bit more capable at diverting plosives than other mics that do not have it, the Yeti is still very affected by plosives. I know because I've had my Yeti since December (not OP) and I got a pop filter a couple months after because I was sick of ruining my audio without one.
