The thermometer shows at about 140 but I can assume that is because it's fucked and the breaker is off, yes? I'd rather not burn the place down just yet. The labels on my breaker box aren't the most trustworthy so I turned off both labeled furnace and water heater.

It came with the trailer and this trailer is a piece of shit so I am sure it is fake. It's my girlfriend's. She's an idiot and bought it about 6 years ago and it's falling apart. She was desperate and didn't even bother to have her dad or anyone go with her to check it out. By the time it's paid off I imagine the floors will be caving in.

I've never worried about the warranty on a water heater. I've installed 3 in my lifetime. All of them have lasted at least 10 years. If a manufacturer puts a 10+ year warranty on something there is a 99.999% chance that it will last as long as they say. if it is going to fail it's within the first year.

OP here. They tried to get me to pay $1900 to replace the thing so I just did it myself with a bit of guidance despite my pussy attitude towards it. Saved me $1300. Just tested the water and everything seems to be working good. Now what can I do with this old water heater aside from hauling it to the scrap yard for chump change?

If that is a pic of the upper element cover, rust appears to begin above the element itself. Could be leaking from a bad fitting on the top of the tank and then dripping down in the thermostat and connections, eventually killing them.

Check the plumbing connections before replacing electrical parts or the new ones will just rust again.
