Is this smart or retarded
My guitar strings are way too far away from the frets

One of my cheap guitars has bow in it and I don't know what to do

Not that much different than what a luthier does.
Why is it bowed? Did it get wet?

I switched to this now
I didn't ask him for help he wanted to see it I showed him the problem and he said NO THERE IS NOTHING WRONG
I told him don't yell I don't give a shit I didn't ask for you to help me but it is bent
He said NO IT IS NOT
I asked what do you know about guitars then he told me to fuck off
I wish I were dead or wish other people were dead

That’s how boomers are for some reason

The truth is he doesn’t know ;most boomers don’t know much about anything) and he’s embarrassed to not know and feels like less of a man it’s not personal

My dad is just like that and he does stupid shit with tools and buys cheap tools and used to yell at me like that when I was a kid whe I was able to do stuff he was t able to. Like come in and fix the sink he was cursing at etc

I got a job working on cars then later in production and machining early in college and he kept telling me I was doing everything wrong despite him not knowing what I was doing

I noticed that a lot of stupid people or uninformed people are quick to tell you that you’re always wrong and they have absolutely zero skills in anything

Consider all this useful experience. Learn how to find information very, very efficiently before escaping as most people even yung ones don't really know how to use the internet. Since you like music it will benefit you greatly to study in detail every aspect of guitars and having a junk one to experiment with is an opportunity to learn.

An acoustic guitarr will fold on itself it's a thing and corrected by filing down the bridge, when that's not enough you do a a neck reset.
What you're doing won't help, it will spring back.
First check the back of the bridge to see if it's coming unglued then with a level on the fretboard check the underbow and where it hits the bridge

I can do woodwork but I don't have the tools at hand
I used a drill and multiple drill bits with a wood screw and bolt to make a knob at the bottom of the guitar so I can hookup the stretch band

I have a drill an assortment of drill bits and file bits

^This but looking that up would have been a bridge too far.

1964/5 was the end of that boom as by then the returning vets had established families and were middle aged. For example a vet b. 1925 and discharged in '45/'46 would have had two decades to start a family and been 40 thus mostly done breeding by 1965.

Zoomers being neglected by Gen X parents missed out on history and math so here we are.

Have you looked on the Internet somewhere besides 4chan(nel)? Damn dude, if this isn't bait you're a fucking idiot. I guess that makes this bait then, so I'm the idiot, but still... Damn. You can bend guitar necks. You can possibly take them apart and shim them to a better angle. You can throw pieces of shit away and get a better one if nothing else. Go do some actual digging, shit.

There's a crazy video on youtube of a guy making a cut through heel/body joint from the back, up to (but not through) the fretboard and then resetting the angle of the neck. kindof crazy but if you're competent with wood and not afraid to fuck up the guitar you could try that

You can try dampening the neck or humidifying it then when it dries it will be more prone to retaining the shape you're encouraging. I really have no idea how much water to impregnate. I just know that changes in temperature and wood moisture can really rearrange some lumber.

I'm hardly a guitar expert, but that really doesn't seem like much of a bow. The action looks too high at the nut and maybe the bridge too. You want a bit of bow to begin with.

You want to measure the string height at the 12th fret when you push down at the first fret. It should be about 1.9mm on the high string, and 2.8mm on the low string. If it is, the nut is too high. If it's higher, the bridge might be too high.

First off, did you put metal strings on a classical guitar? Because that will definitely fuck your bow up.

>> No.2746282

>>2746278
You mean the bow is concave, not convex? Because it sure looks convex. Or you don't know how to rotate objects in your head, which is very scary in itself.

If you press down the string at the first fret, what is the string height at the 12th fret? This is a simple test, you do have a ruler, right? If you have some picks of different thicknesses you can use them as feeler gauges.

OP, to answer Q, to unwarp a neck on that type of guitar you can take off the fretboard (carefully pry it off), get the neck level, then glue it back on. The reglued fret board will keep it straight.
I've done this before on a warped neck to fix it, required a bunch of clamps and something straight. I used a 2"x2" piece of square steel tube with a notch for the bridge when I did it.
The other way, reseting the neck at body is a famously complicated process that most repair luthiers will refuse to attempt. And it won't address a neck that's actually warped.
>>2745876
>I can do woodwork but I don't have the tools at hand
Then you can't do woodwork.
I don't get why ppl come here to talk about issues when they don't have access to tools to actually fix the thing.
Just throw it away and buy a new one. Someone like me will come grab it off the curb and fix it.
>>2746319
Agree. This >>2746256 is a bad pic but that nut looks super tall. I can't tell if the neck's actually warped from the pic.
Those look like nylon strings to me but impossible b/c OP can't focus his camera.
But ofc OP can't actually bother to get a file or piece of sandpaper to file bridge or nut b/c OP is no tools / no money.
> t. always pick up guitars off curb to fix when found. Everything from missing strings / poor setup, to bridges completely torn off the body.

>> No.2746327

>nut looks super tall
Oh, and on that topic OP: press finger down between 1st and 2nd fret, then press down on top of first fret. There should be virtually no gap (like, paper thin gap) between string and first fret. If there's a gap, file the string slot, unless they are all high, then file down the whole nut instead.
