My shitty Chinese digital scope's internal mechanism snagged on the display cable and teared it. Does anyone know where I could get a replacement?
The markings on it say: FY-24-40 V2

Reverse
also counting the pins on the ribbon end, there are indeed 40 or them. On the latch(?) end there are 25.

I'm not exactly sure what to search for. Searching FY-24-40 V2 didn't give any results and I'm not sure what this time of cable is called. Searching for flex cable only gives results like picrel

camera's poopy. it's that small crease looking thing directly under the left popper. On my end I can see about 4 traces were taken out

those are bitch to source and the traces are much too fine to repair with standard tools...gl

I don’t know if this will be useful, but such cables can be repaired by soldering a jumper past the damaged area. If you can’t find the cable, look for an electronics repairman who knows how to handle SMD components and soldered under a microscope.

lol the picture was taken with a tablet. The ribbon cable in the image came out of the scope.

I think that's what might have to happen. I've tried searching for the display too (TRULY IPS5K0722-HFPC-B1-E) But I've not find anything yet. My last option is to yell at the merchant on aliexpress but it's been months and I don't think I'm going to have much luck.

>I've tried searching for the display too
I spent hours trying to find a display for something that broke. when I located a supposedly compatible display, ordered it, and hooked it up the orientation was vertical instead of horizontal, and it had weird glitches.

I don't know how much your device cost but it might be cheaper and faster to just get another one.

They are all custom-made, printed like circuit boards. They are in fact flexible printed circuits. The manufacturer should be able to provide one.

Rule #1 of dealing with chinese on Alibaba: don't write a novel. Just tell them

"please send replacement cable for display connection"

they won't and you will have a hell of a time identifying who it is.

The manufacturer of the scope? You can't just go to the manufacturer of that specific cable because: 1) it could have been manufactured by any company, who knows; 2) it might be out of production; 3) they usually are not legally able to sell it to you as it is made under license, even though it's a trivial part. If you were to send them an identical part they would produce it for you, but they will charge you setup fees and that might not be cost-effective.
