Hello again, /diy/.

Today, we're continuing the utility belt thread. We're doing our equipment testing today! I've managed to get a hold of a camcorder and I will have my droid with me, so I WILL BE CHECKING BACK OVER THE NEXT THREE HOURS FOR TEST REQUESTS FROM YOU! Today's tests include the grappling hook, paracord, carabiner, and rappel belt - so please make requests for this equipment.

I Suggest reading some books on quick medical care. A lot of what you might know might need to be updated. As an example a lot of people think that tying your leg with a belt when you get a large wound there will prevent you from losing blood. But it actually increases the need to amputate the leg. I mention this because I saw you have rubber tubing in your bag. I honestly suggest with no sarcasm that you learn CPR and other paramedic techniques

The other anon is right. Tourniquets are SERIOUS business. Whatever you do, don't take it off or loosen it or let it loosen or break. You are not qualified to remove a Tourniquet and really aren't qualified to apply one. If you screw up the application, you will lose the limb when it wasn't necessary. If you screw up the removal you will drop dead.

Also something amateurs never think of - paint the exact time you applied the Tourniquet to the guy's forehead, use his own blood if you don't have a felt marker

Thanks for bumping my fag paracord thread, bro.

You're the only one bumping, actually. And my hope is to get the other residents of this board to realize why one should not encourage people such as yourself to post here. You are helping me greatly in this endeavor by continuing to regurgitate your drivel. Now that you've gone through "u mad bro", "0/10", and "thanks for bumping my thread", what will your next post contain?

I'm probably going to get banned over this but oh well, I'm really sick of summer.

Shut the fuck up lets talk about paracords and booby traps and stuff

>> No.267235

>>267229
Exactly.

Anywho, i'm hoping to get more tests done this coming saturday, since it's my only day off. If not, i have a week of vacatiom coming to me the third week of this month - plenty of time to catch up on testing.

I'm hoping to get my hands on a zip line trolly by then.

prolly should avoid booby traps, the legality of them is controversial

>> No.267350

>>267348
I agree - still, simple trip-up traps won't hurt and can be very effective.

I'd try to stay away from smashing, slicing, squishing, exploding, stabbing, or shooting traps.

Carrying a lot of thickish metal cable would be perfect for this

naw there are some decent trip wire you can find that are thing but durable enough for traps

you should try to find a mini plasma cutter. if you have you're emergency power pack that has a standard outlet, you can literally burn right through steel. Interesting piece of tech, a plasma cutter.

That's a plasma cutter she's holding.

>> No.267670

>>267662
No... I mean a plasma cutter. It's basically an air compressor, some fairly complex control electronics, and a copper electrode with a tiny button of pure hafnium embedded in it. Then when you fire it, the compressor blows arc plasma out the torch and into the metal.
the difference is that a plasma cutter uses arc plasma

Dunno about sewing, but you could use magnets or metal fasteners.

Ought to carry a small amount of Aluminum and Iron-Oxide powder for thermite. What about those ping-pong ball smoke bombs? Look them up on youtube. Maybe if you put a few strike anywhere matches inside it, it could light on impact?
