By honoring scientists and inventors from history and popular culture in the /diy/ pantheon, we would be showing our aspirations to be as successful, innovative and creative in our pursuits as they were in theirs. But seriously, people will not care about all these historic figures and will forget about it. The only way to make something more permanent will be making a charismatic mascot. It will be drawn in anime or cartoon style depending on the artist but the important thing is to make it interesting. /x/tan is loved and drawn by many people, even by people that never goes to /x/ because she is original and interesting. You gotta make something that will bring the attention of people outside the board.
