I have a ratty old hoodie with a few pins and patches, nothing special. Tried stenciling my own patches for a little while but couldn't really get the hang of it, only one or two turned out acceptable. I'm sure spraypaint or screen printing would work better for the more intricate designs, not really a priority for me anymore though.

The jacket in the picture is a little too neat and tidy for my tastes, but whatever.

Hey OP don't listen to these clowns. The spirit of punk cannot die, it will spring eternally from within whenever there is someone to disagree with societies ways.

Just keep practicing, and looking for inspiration. Don't let anyone crush your spirit.

OP If you can make a jacket that looks like the pic that's a cool thing. Its definitely pretty punk rock as long as you actually make it your self. But I think what the other poster is getting at is that when someone decides to make something like that for the first time it usually doesn't come out like that. That just looks like some shitty thing you'd get at hot topic and that kind of misses the point of the punk diy spirit. If you try to wear a jacket that looks like that to a punk show anyone who is really into the punk lifestyle is gonna treat you like some shitty scenetalented /diy/er But if people know you make jackets like that cause its your thing and fuck everyone and there opinions you'll be alright. Watch this clip from the filth and fury op you'll be better off for it. sorry about the subtitles its the only one I could find on the fly. Good luck OP

the whole point of punk clothing is being anti-fashion, because fashion is a system and people follow it to conform and seek acceptance among their peers. wear what you want to wear. wear what you think looks good

As silly as your jackets often look, I wonder how much it would hurt to punch those studs-now that I think of it, it kind of acts as armor for your mean-looking hippies. Maybe I should put spikes all over my clothing, in case someone tries to jump me.

probably more likely to hurt you than an attacker...imagine being slammed on your back with all those metal studs in your jacket.

maybe if you have a cat-like ability to land perfectly flat on your back from all angles, the pressure distribution over the surface area would help you.

So, Brett, are you in this thread? I seriously doubt it, since you barely know how to fucking spell, but I love ya brother.

Punk style is annoying, but they're all good people. The whole edgy/progressive thing cracks me up.

I had to learn that at my mixed martial arts class. It's actually pretty helpful in preventing injury during a fall. Only you don't land on your back in all angles, just as flat as possible in all angles.
