I personally recommend Hakko products. Get flux and solder (tech) wick. Flux should be that no clean shit if you do a lot with SMT, otherwise I prefer Rosin. Get something to clean the flux too. If you've got big bills burning holes in your pockets, get the solder suckers.

Aoyue make ok gear for cheap. My bro has a 937+ I use all the time and it's great (I use a Hakko 936 at work which I love).

camera's broke, but here is the model I have, if not my own rig. Metcal STSS-002. Got it free when a factory nearby went out of business. Gets hot in about 4 seconds, cools in a bout 10, interchangeable tips, heavy metal construction
