Okay maybe retard tier question: I have a BF-F8HP in the mail and I’m trying to get into ham radio. Are there any good directional antennas for baofengs so that you can triangulate broadcasts? I’m mainly interested in ham radio for the SIGINT

This, I have the ABBREE 18.9 incher from amazon and the thing is so sick at not only 146.520 simplex, but UHF and illegal GMRS usage on my BF-F8HP, it just resonates decently at everything, I had even switched to the Nagoya NA-771, thinking it would be a game changer, and it wasn't, the ABBREE was just very very decent at everything.

I haven't tinkered with it as I bought it off someone in the club two years ago when I passed the Tech test, and it's been in my vehicle since. All I did was program the local repeaters, GMRS, MURS, and CB. There's no mention in the manual about data modes with it. Here's the back of it. My next post will be the data port used to program it.

Doing DSP work without feeling comfortable about maths will be painful. You really want to understand FFT and related transforms. Hilbert transforms are also used.

You can also learn by picking apart existing projects, some are mentioned in the FAQ.
As for work, you can make a nice, well paid career in DSP work if you know your stuff, see >>>/sci/scg and the FAQ for that general.
