I'm currently trying to source LiFePo4 D/LR20 batteries, but I can't seem to find any in my country. I am taking this 12-volt D-cell battery project further.

Problems:
- Can't find LFP batteries.
- Can only get 1A with alkaline batteries so I hope LFP batteries will fix that problem too.
- Can't find LFP D-cell chargers with 12-Volt cigarette lighter plug anywhere in my country
- Need to find out how whether I can just make a row of 12-Volt cigarette lighter outlets and hook them directly to a large solar panel, or if I need to have any kind of regulator between that.

That seems like it’s going to be really inefficient with no battery. You really should try to find a power bank. The ebay jumper bricks would probably work good if you can rig the solar panel to charge that, plus many of them have a 12V lighter outlet that can plug in, or you could buy a <$5 12V female lighter outlet thing, they often sell them with clamps on the other end, and wire that into a cheap jumper brick. Some of those bricks charge with a USB-C in, some of them are like 15V laptop power supplies going in, so you just need to make the solar panel out match whatever the jumper brick wants.~12V from a solar panel to a 5V USB could be done easily with a cheap USB car phone charger I’d imagine, or a buck converter.

That's not true. Industrial can utilize different materials to achieve that look. It's not concrete only. One could use metal, steel, copper, aluminum, concrete, wood, brick for example. Walls can be exposed brick, steel, normal drywall if mixing up separate styles(rustic, farmhouse, modern), etc
Sometimes tile is used like (penny tile) in bathrooms.
Floors can be wood, concrete, stone.
Decor can include usage of black pipe fittings which are seen everywhere, cooper, hammered metal, cast iron, antique hardware(gears, pallets, old machines) propellers, leather, etc.
I understand industrial, but I also have a budget and making things by hand stays within it.

This is the 1st one.
-They came with the roses on top which I cut off with a diamond bladed saw on an angle grinder.
-I then used wired bevel cups and a grinding disk to take off the paint and create an aged or distressed look to it.
-I also created artificial damage by taking out small chunks here and there.
-Then proceeded to drill holes (1" spacing) around the metal border.
-I used Internal Socket Head Cap Screws which I spray painted (antique copper and hammered black(speckled)

Assembling materials to paint my 2005 Crown Vic LX. It has the widespread primer issue where the paint flakes off over time. It was only in a few spots when we got it 3 years ago but its spread exponentially in the last year. Waited too long to get it painted, and now places nearby are saying the materials alone will cost $8K. Cheaper just to buy all the equipment and do it myself. Going to use oil based enamel paint, the professional stuff is hundreds of dollars a gallon. I've spent weeks looking at every video I can about tractor paint and Rustoleum, and I'm becoming more confident. As long as I go slow and am patient, it should turn out well. Not expecting it to be perfect, but I will be happy as long as it prevents rust, which is the main reason I'm doing this. Pic rel is what I'm planning to do.

hard to say since I bought a big reel of LED's and bulk electronics for the first one that I still have
it's hard to tell from the picture but the top piece is around 3' long, it's kinda big. might go smaller on the next ones idk

per lamp I'd say it's around
>$5 LED strip section
>$5 metal counterweight in base
>$15 worth of epoxy
>$10 electronics (ac - dc transformer, voltage regulator, strip controller)
>$20 wood (used brazilian rosewood for that one, but any hardwood would work I think)
>$75 labor (about 3 hours to make one not counting epoxy cure times)

doesn't really matter since they'll be gifts and the biggest expense is labor which doesn't matter in this case

Holy shit. I can’t believe how straight these cuts end up using a miter saw instead of a circular saw. Had to notch the top and go around that bend by the fuse box and it still lines up.

Still more work to do. Need to move those cabinets somewhere else and I’m going to do 2 or 3 shelves under the left side of the bench. Right side will be for the trash can because there’s a cubby hole and the hot water heater back there. Right side of the bench is anchored into the concrete wall.

I have this detached garage that eventually got this car port added to it. For whatever reason they went thru putting up cement blocks, framing it, and roofing it and then just said fuck the ground. They left it totally untouched and it's completely unlevel so I'm digging it out and just adding stone in an attempt to level it. Seriously don't understand why they went thru the trouble of adding this just to fuck it up in the end.

I currently set the first fader to the "weight" of the flashing curve, and the second one to the animation/movement speed.
The arduino itself act like an interface for the input devices: the PS/2 keyboard and the basic DMX console on the right. Both are plugged on the arduino (>>2484368) , used as a serial input (mapped to Onyx via Art-Net using Chataigne).
I had 3 fadders laying around so I added them because why not (but I fucking lost the third one).
>Onyx any good, advantages/not so hot at?
The free version is enough for me for now (limited to 1 universe), and it's easier to use than grandMA onPC (I'm still a beginner). It does everything I need, but I havent years of experience yet.
I might switch to grandMA OnPC in the future when I fell the need to or when I'm more confortable.
>personally maybe have split that setup into two flightcases, transport wise, but it maybe looks bigger than it is..
Yeah that was an option. it's about 1m20 long, not really compact. I haven't weighted it yet, but I added wheels on a side (>>2484360).
desu the first idea was no case at all, I just bring all the stuff and setting it up at the venue, but I had a lot of free time this summer to start this project.

The whole thing output art-net, which is listened and outputted by this raspberry pi node. That flight isn't DIY, but the raspberry pi + router rack panel is.
Next thing i'll do is throw an ESP-01 and a relay to my shitty for machine to remote control it.

For your particular sort of welding? I don't think so, but for the shapes you have cut out and the amount of them, etc... your design needs work, the art of your craft.
Those are fine introductory, proof of concept pieces but if you want something proud to hang on your wall it should be nearing picrelated or comparable.
I'm saying justify your advanced tools and "modern" trade against what men without electricity or even a steam engine did with basic hand tools.

Alright then stop, take a step back and do ssome study, literally just spend hours and hours LOOKING at maces from history, see their design and focus on how form meets function, but also I see with two of those (the one in your hand here and the similar from before) are not even following basic design principles, you need ayour spikes focused on the head in a spherical area, you will never hit your opponent with your shaft halfway down the weapon and if you do, you're robbing yourself of the whole point of swinging a lever to begin with.

Doin some yard work, needed to section off a couple areas around the house that had some gravel for drainage.

The little babby 7” wet tile saw worked great for cutting the bricks because the angle grinder forced me to get a mask.

Then returned all this pink marble because I wanted to do these big round decorative river rocks but they were expensive as hell. Gave in, went back to Lowe’s and spent $300 to cover like <50 square feet. there's a chance the open front part of the wood could sag since there's no support under it

The pressure washer? For the concrete driveway. I think the lady who owned this place before had a roommate or a daughter with a car that leaked some oil so I’m in the process of trying to pull some of that shit out. I got pic related and tried a small spot, seemed to pull some up, so I poured the rest of the bottle this morning and I’ll hose it off tomorrow or the next day and see if it’s worth a 2nd bottle or trying a different brand.

Pic related is like a real thick liquid that leaves a layer of dense white powder when it dries and I guess it just wicks the oil up slowly, so I’m not in a rush to hose it off.

I got 2x 8pks of these 6” long floating shelf brackets. So I’m doing some 2x10s and some 2x8s. They sell even more beefy ones but I think those shelves will be for lighter decor stuff.

One thing I didn’t anticipate, almost had to go back to Home Depot because I don’t own a 1/2” drill bit that’s 8” long. Ended up having to use a bit holder and 1/2” spade bit for the final inch and it was infuriating.

We’ll see how the shelves hold up, I’m just hoping they mount level. I figured there would be some pin or screw to keep the board on the post of the bracket, but they just slide on. Luckily with a 1/2” drill bit in regular boards, they end up fitting fairly snug so hopefully they stay on.

Also I went from “Special Walnut” on the last project to “Dark Walnut” on these shelves because it looked 3-4 shades darker in the store, but this shit seems so close. Maybe it’s the pine boards, I’m going to do a bunch of coats to match this dark funiture in the bedroom and hopefully I don’t need to go back for “Espresso”.

The little 8oz things of stain are $8 and the 32oz are like $11, so I always end up with the bigger one and then use that shit on a couple boards and have 3/4 a thing of stain sitting around forever.

Speaking of wives, we have lots of solid oak furniture and the wife wants it darker, but everything is curved and nice looking with lots of corners so I told her I’ll get her some sandpaper if she wants to stain that stuff darker. Sucks because the furniture is nice but that oak color is kind of 2005.

But like the 6 kitchen chairs all have intricate carvings and stuff and would be such a fucking headache to sand but I can’t toss furniture that nice. Unless I rent some huge sandblaster? Interesting.

>but if they get banned they can't load google's recaptcha on the ban page.
Why? Does China's firewall block Google's captcha? Maybe it is blocked because it contributes to Google (a US-based company) making self-driving cars. (BTW, censorship is a force of power and not truth; censorship doesn't seek to persuade - it is gross.)

Haha I think that is the Pillsbury doughboy face you carved on the left. The one on the right looks like a ghoul face (from Fallout video game series) that I carved in the past.

I admit, it is not as artistic as pic related (not mine). I wanted to go with something different than some dumb face carved into a pumpkin, and I was satisfied with my low effort, simple and different design. It was kinda fun to carve with a steak knife only.

I saw some images online of an upside-down pentagram carved into a pumpkin. What they did is make the cut out the non-line parts of the star, so the parts that were cut out were an inversion of what I cut.

(>>2492777 = further cut)

My journey was initially to create biofuel with a bottle of HEET (methanol). Turns out that requires more equipment and ingredients I was equipped for.
Anyway it turned out bad, didn’t even trace after 30 minutes of stirring, so I just poured the caustic soup into molds. I’m a shitty chemist who rushes everything and doesn’t stir properly or heat slowly. We’ll see in two weeks if it works.

How long are you waiting (time-wise) until wiping off the excess stain?
How much pressure/force are you using when you wipe off the stain?
Are you using terry towels or simple wiping cloths?
Are you using a paint brush or foam brush to apply it?

Alot of questions, but they are very relevant. I use the Varathane Premium (Ebony) all the time.

A smart three phase power meter. currently one phase proof of concept is working ok. final project will have all the required protections (fuses, varistor overvoltage protection) inside a DIN rail enclosure. the client has a basic web display and DB storage. communication is PLC over one of the phases to neutral. protocol over PLC is modbus RTU. server is arduino mega 2560, client is raspberry pi. Can activate electromechanical relays or ssr in case a monitored parameter goes above a threshold. ex: cut power if voltage swells or if too much power is drawn.
