Heard that the art of electronics is a very good book, however my uni's library has somehow lost the copy (some grad probably niggered it) so I haven't seen it.
On the other hand a very good electronics diy book is the "practical electronics for inventors"
look it up

I bought this book (2nd ed.) and I love it. High purchase price but no regrets.
It's kind of like having a grizzled old engineer who knows almost everything there was to know up until 1989, and the majority of this book is timeless knowledge, or at least still valid today. Of course it's missing the stuff that came after 1989: FPGAs, IGBTs, modern PCB design and SMD, modern buses like PCI express. Still worth it.

Nobody ITT said anything to that effect.
Some people do have that opinion, but other people having dumb opinions doesn't suddenly make it okay for you to say racial slurs.

is what I would say if this were not 4chan.
