I have to do a cardboard vase for a school project.
What is the EASIEST way to do it? (which is not just a cube with a hole in it)

Cut out a shape and tape up the sides, you could also do a box shaped vase who says it has to be pretty. Does it have to hold water?

Just spitballing here but I would go to a box store and find a vase that already exists. Measure the circumference of the vase every 1/4 or 1/2 inch from the top all the way down. Divide those measurements by 5 or maybe 6. The number you divide by is the number of “tines” the piece you cut should have. Cut the tines out in the shape that this OP has drawn. The width of each time would be the distance you got when you divided the original circumference by the number of tines you’re going to use. Obviously the center, or what will be the very bottom, will be the exact circumference of the measurement of the bottom of the vase. I could be wrong. You may need to make different iterations of this to test my theory out. What class is this for?

Also the distance between the center of each tine would be (360/number of tines). Use a protractor to calculate that angle from the center point of the circle in the middle of the structure. You probably want to calculate this before you start cutting. The centerpoint will actually be your starting point to measure the angles and then you will measure from those lines to get the measurement of each tine. Spoke maybe a better word to use than tine.

Same concept just a better picture...

This would result in a hexagonal tapered vase that gets wider at the top. Would probably be your best bang for the buck in terms of fanciness vs littlest time/effort input.

There are all kinds of low poly papercraft vases you could make if you're looking for something fancy.

You could turn the cardboard into a pulp and smear it around a balloon for something "out of the box". A lot of options here.
