My buddy just sent me a gag gift. He knows I hate Philips head. Is there a way I could change the heads?

Stick them tip-first in your ass and the hamsters you having living up there will gnaw them down into flatheads

>> No.1997049

They're probably the superior JIS head, not phillips.

Gind them down to robertson, even more useless, them post in the thread filled with jap-handtool-fap-weaboos. Enjoy the rage.

He told me that he sent these to me because we both like ave, the only thing I use screwdrivers for now are machine screws

>> No.1997286

I'll use them as indoor screw drivers because they're too nice formy messy shop filled with wera, wiha and other plastic

If they're genuine Japanese they're more likely JIS tip which looks similar but is far better designed.

My initial thought, a JIS set would be a nice gift actually (if you enjot JIS from your buddy) but NO. The model is ND3P-WHATEVER, sooo clearly phillips drivers.

I'm just going to suck it up and use them for indoors and pocket screws for fine furniture.

I'm gluing up a massive black walnut table that's over 8ft long and 1.5 ok nches thick. Imma use some Phillips gay screws for the legs.

Philips heads are designed to cam-out under excessive torque so as not to damage the driver. Good for woodworking or power tools.
JIS screws are designed to grip the tool and not drop off. Great for machine screws.

Have you ever had to deal with a mangled phillips screw in ash or oak? Especially a piece that you can't get all caveman at and need to deal with it causing minimal damage? If not then don't tell me it's good for woodworking.

Also. Do the right thing, drop phillips/pozidriv and use torx or hex.
