Grab a nylon brush and some dishsoap water and clean all the slots. Might need some wire (or a paper clip, whatever) to knock out harder gunk. Clean the disc too. After done, dry it up and put the disc back on. It should light up and present a (mostly) even flame.

take it off clean it and put it back on
it might also have liquid in it if it has one of those mesh filters, in that case you'll need to dry it or leave it on until the liquid has evaporated and it works normally again.
