I have a carbide 200r pc case with a flat front and intakes on the side
I wanna cut out a piece of the front and replace it with a fine mesh come next summer

Where can I get that mesh material as a sheet to work with?
What would be the best way to affix it on the inside, hot glue?

Double sided tape will be stronger than glue.

>>1935908
The cut edge can be hidden with u-channel trim specifically for case modding so it might not look horrible as long as OP can cut relatively straight.

that would impede function

look at this job I did, cutting holes into the front of my InWin303 case. Looks stock, you can't tell unless you really get up close.

OP, a rectangle cut would be easy as long as you take your time cutting and filing down those edges

also it will look like shit

There's jigs and hole saws out there cheap that would give you a clean cut unlike what's pictured.

Look for Hjälpa on ikea, it's a shoeshelf, perforated.

I'm currently doing a meshed front for my pc case as well, just waiting on another delivery.

Finding perforated metal at the right size is strangely difficult, but ikea saved me.

I finished cutting it out for my case, it worked great.
You can use a regular hacksaw, just put it on a table with a cloth/something to asborb the vibrations in between and clamp it down. It will save your ears.

They make magnetic replacement mesh now, its cheap. It should look fine if you cut the holes small enough to have their edges concealed by the magnetic strip portion of the filter mesh.

Is the case steel or aluminum?

A decent brand double sided tape is much better than hot glue for gluing flat things to flat things. It's strong as fuck. There are better things than glue though.

Thanks. Though since your area is smaller it might be worth checking out those already existing magnetic filters. This case had one and it'd be great if it could cover the entire front of mine.

I'm not OP.
Thanks though!

You must not take showers often if dust builds up like that. 99% of dust is dead skin cells that flaked off , and showering daily scrapes them off before they fall off.
