Mine used to be fastened like OP's, then I tried using two big ass screws but I broke one while tightening it with a pipe wrench so I ended up drilling through the whole bench and using threaded rod. The bench itself is fastened to the wall in two places using the same method, now it's rock solid.

the dewalt proprietary-sized dust collector port is annoying, but otherwise i love it. go to the plumbing section at the hardware store and you can pick up a flexible pvc coupler for it to mate to a standard hose. Be warned that the way the couplers are sized for some reason don't at ALL match the actual dimensions of the hose/tube. Bring a ruler when you actually go buy it.

standing roller tool drawers are stupidly fucking expensive. One day, I'll have one. But right now my everyday tools are in toolboxes that are a pain to rustle through because they naturally become disorganized and jumbled. I'm not saying pegboard is the optimal solution (which is why my original post asked for alternatives) but having tools up on a wall for quick access and organization is a nice idea.

Thats what a tool chest is for which accomplishes it in a very efficient way.
Pegboards are so space inefficient you can barely fit any tools on them. The whole concept is so mind bogglingly stupid its not funny. Lets just let all the dirt and dust and moisture sit on all of your tool for aesthetic. Dont forget the stepstool for all the tools up high!

>>1888934
Toolboxes arent expensive, they are cheap and plentiful on the second hand market.

My workbench. I installed the top doors this year. It's small, the work area is 60x200cm, but I live in yurop so it's better than nothing.
The light is an LED strip, powered by an old broken solar cell sitting on my roof and two half dead batteries.

Next improvement is to have bluetooth speakers with a couple old car speakers and a 9$ bluetooth amp module from china, running from the batteries. Really good modules, I recommend them.

Next year I'll make a mobile bench for the miter saw that doubles as a router table with lots of drawers to clear some clutter.

The bench at my old house was pretty beat so I burned it before I sold the house. I should have built another one to beat on, but I got the tall cabinet, bench, and the 2 wall cabinets for a whopping $100 bucks on Craigslist just after I bought my new house. I do have plans to build a rolling miter and table saw bench this fall tho.

I have one of those too. It’s nice at night, cuts down on the FL humidity after a few hours. But in the middle of the day when it’s 90F and sunny, it will only drop the temp like 2F but the humidity drop can still be nice. The garage has shit insulation and a couple small vents though. Plus my power bill goes $$$ and if I park a car with a warm engine in there, it negates like 3 hours of AC cooling.

LOL WHAT? you missed the whole point of the previous post... commercial buildings get repurposed all the time. depends on what the previous tenant used it for. a new tenant must make use of whatever design the bulding is to fit their needs. so if it looks like a fucking airplane hangar maybe at one point it was one. and now the current tenant/owner uses it for a workshop.
