Okay boys I'm leaving to go boogin next month, I've got weapons, solar power, water filtration, thermal protection, all tools needed for cutting, modifying, and building, my gf is saving money to add to our funds. I'm currently getting acclimated to how ill be setting things up and how everything will work.

Give me ideas for projects while we're out there.

Shipping containers are the ideal mobile boogshelter and may be delivered by tracked vehicles towing standard container mobilizers, Landoll trailers or even standard trailers but will require a crane to unload from those. A refrigerated container is best to preserve the imitation crab meat until you dig your bunkersite (buy a quality entrenching tool and survival knife, preferably with a compass in the handle and fish hooks, LOTS of fish hooks, did I mention I fucking love fish hooks?). Other useful items are baby wipes, a queening stool and a decent variety of urethral sounds.

Survival requires warmth, best applied internally by Tapered Bulbous Venous Immersion (TBVI) heaters either of the Bad Dragon variety (but cast of high temp silicone so the water heater element doesn't melt it and napalm ur or gf's anoose) or traditional bull-powered systems.

The purpose of boog is walkabout, a spiritual journey from paranoid trailertrash to testosterrific chadstud and making it with your gf will enhance the experience for both of you (and ur bull, who serves as a shaman for this sort of thing).

This will be a wonderful, transformative time! Modern societies neglect proper manhood rituals and the glans branding (have a custom branding iron made to reflect your personality, but the branding surface area must be at least 25 square millimeters to ensure proper scarification of the carnal ridge) is especially memorable.

Wasting his own time isn't even that big of a deal. The problem is he is asking one of the few good boards on 4chan, wasting people's time there and degrading thread/post quality significantly.

I am new here and I just wanna see if I can build a livable structure inna woods out of salvaged material. Is this a bad thing on diy? I have been collecting stuff and I found a 15000 dollar piece of land I wanna buy.

You must be very frustrated with your life to lash out at people just wanting to do some /diy/, friend.

of course you can, anon. people here are just cunts because the world has soured them or because they think they're being cool, but they're trying too hard. there's lots of information on this subject out there, but ultimately the way you build will be determined largely by where you're building (ground type, climate, seismic activity, water table depth etc) and you'll better serve yourself by conducting your own personally-tailored research. /diy/ was supposed to be a place for people to get together and look at each other's projects, but that's been dead for years. best of luck.

Not a bad idea but most of these threads BY FAR are teentarded and it shows. That is why they are rightly ridiculed. OPs post was a troll because it was not phrased as an adult, serious question. Childish shit belongs on /b and childish adults should be liquidated cartel-style.

If you can afford a 15K bit of land you can afford to do your work properly and to study THOROUGHLY beforehand. There is nothing new to invent so copy success. Structures exist in the billions so do what works and have a plan.

Know any relevant local rules by seeing them in print. 4chan is a silly place so never rely on it as a primary resource and ignore everyone who has not personally done whatever you propose to do. Many are the dumbasses who imagine their opinions valid but are mere larpers. You're either serious or you're shit, worth remembering in the various forums (you can't do this all via /diy/ and would be idiotic to try) you'll visit to learn useful things.

Learn to always post relevant DETAILS because for some reason understanding that has disappeared among youth.

Terrain matters, climate matters, water tables matter (what is the water table and well cost at your proposed location? Land without cheap water is worthless for habitation), direct road access matters, easements matter etc.

Before you buy land, study how to buy land! Post your general LOCATION because the world is not identical everywhere! If your land is accessible, has low taxes, cheaply accessible water, and passes a perc test so you can dig a septic system then it may be worth having. In the US you can get plat maps from your county tax office showing easements. Your local GIS page will show tax status etc.

Never get excited, never go shopping hungry, never be lax on details, never assume anything legal, never fail to see relevant laws in print.

Your next step is to do what I do (I've been DIYing since the late 1970s) and research every question you have from primary sources where possible and professional sources at least. Eventually you will get so good at finding info you will very rarely need to ask questions.

Study well beyond the level you expect to need. Knowing how to go far beyond what you expect to need permits you to make better informed decisions. Knowledge is power.

Everything professional is superior to everything hobby, and the sole purpose of hobby is to trade your low value TIME to avoid professional expenses. Wise DIY absolutely includes knowing what NOT to DIY in the way wise professionalism includes knowing what to outsource.

If I can pass anything to other DIYers it would be learning how to learn, studying voraciously, and to find those better at what you want to do than you are to learn from them.

DIY systematically pursued will make you a more effective human. One day you'll have the DIY epiphany when you get that all technology is of a piece from wooden clubs to space exploration. DIY is learning and learning is fun.
