Anyone else excited about the sweet deals on barely used quality tools coming to pawn shops and Craigslist when the depression hits?

I hate to tell you OP, but John Deere riding lawnmowers haven't been "quality" since the mid-80's. They're alright, but no better than anything else now, and very overpriced for what you get.

I'll have my eye out for an iron worker and maybe an excavator. Of course other machine tools will be on my radar as well...

We will see just how bad shit gets before I start counting on finding some deals.

My corona cash is going to a new riding mower, haven’t picked one out yet. Depending on how things go I may look into a sub compact tractor for my small property. Also hoping to jew down a contractor to asphalt my driveway.

The only good deal I've ever had on a riding mower was the one I bought from a guy who's 60-year-old brother had just died of cancer the week before. And he was left to empty out his dead hoarding brother's estate and looked like he hadn't slept in 3 days.
I was the first person to show up with cash and a trailer to push it onto. Both rear tires were flat, but that ended up being the only issue with it. Replaced the deck belts and blades a year later.
5 years later I sold it to my neighbor for the same amount I paid for it back then.

I'd look forward more to the estate sales from old fucks dying.
I hope it also kills the old fucks who prowl yard sales and craigslist for any deal. I was drunk at like 11pm on a Thursday and I saw some craftsman atlus in okay ish shape but it was kinda janky stand/motor mount for like $100.
I responded within literally like 30 minutes of the add but never heard back and the listing was deleted. Probably some fuck with 5 lathes already buying one to hoard like tublcain does.

I would say be excited for some guns to hit the market, but the trannies boomers raise will probably sent them to the incinerator., or sell them to the unfortunately still living boomers at the gun store.

So 4 lathes is ok? It's only not ok to buy more lathes when you get to 5? That means I can have one more!

Off to browse Craigslist and Facebook marketplace for sweet deals on newly posted lathes!

Tools will remain valuable but recessions helped outfit my shop and this one will let me add more machine tools like the last time. Of course I have land, shop space and gear to easily move whatever I buy.

BTW most of the reason you don't find the tools you want isn't competition, it's failure to autismally search luquidations, trade papers, online, human networks, and to have ready cash and moving equipment so you don't have to pay a rigger. Strategy is everything.

theres literally show on Fox Business called "Strange Inheritances" whose slogan is "you cant take it with you".

i think they idea is that they are trying to push Boomers to liquidate their valueble assets for cash to spend instead of leaving all of their junk to their kids.

Be patient. The economy hasn't fully crashed yet. Also understand asking prices are just that and people hate turning down cash.

You are silly to be in a hurry so stop that. The stuff you want to buy will remain popular, you're not after Franklin Mint knicknacks. You need to play it smart. All that Fox bullshit is entertainment for retards. Disregard. Tools and equipment and firearms will offer themselves just like the last time.

BTW there are many boomers with many years left, money, time, and experience surviving economic speedbumps. There is nothing they do you cannot copy.

Ironworkers never go cheap except by insanely unlikely accident. I've been hunting one for twenty years for hobby use, and I'm good.
