>pic related, It's david generys book on how to make your own lathe. You, actually have to get the first book, which outlines how to make your own crucible, so that you can melt down scrap aluminum and cast the parts for the lathe, then you actually machine some parts with the lathe only partially completed

Nice, i have an atlas except it has the Hi/Low geared head and reversible feed (allows auto feeding away from the chuck and the turning of left hand threads. Though I sold my quick change tooling with my HF lathe a while back.

You have everything to put your back together? Looks pretty complete.

What on it needs to be restored? It looks like it would be in perfect working condition.

search demonoid for gingery torrent, it has many of his books in it.
There actually is a book that he wrote on making a tesla turbine, which can be ran on compressed air or steam up to 5,000 rpm and makes about 10 hp. His greatest series of books are the ones I just mentioned, but he goes on to teach you how to make an entire machine shop out of basically scraps of metal you can get for free. He shows the lathe, a "metal shaper", how to make a mill, a drillpress, a pipe bender, a sheet metal break, and even accessories for the lathe that allow you to do things like make your own gears. He also wrote books on how to make your own plastic vacuum forming machine, and a plastic injection machine that you can use to recycle plastic bottles into whatever you want.
