i can see parts of my workbench surface that i have not seen in months.

work continues.

You should never let it get to that point to start with. I have all my benches full of projects and shit, but it is all organized still and boxed up/grouped into each project. Tools always get put away every night, and the floors and any benches that get dirtied get swept off every day. Floor and benches not currently being used for a project get swept every week or two.

Hopefully on of these fucking holidays I get off (I work 6 to 7 days a week) I'll work on my workroom. I live in an apartment for now and setup the second bedroom as a workroom. Hopefully next year I can get a garage in the back that if the boomer maintenance guy didn't take them all up. He has half of them and has like 2 project cars, shit for the apartment, and all his stuff in them.

I have 2 houses and 3 sheds that look like that. I hauled 10 pickup loads off and ive been just able to go to work and come home to be sad about all the shit i threw away.

I threw away stif cardboard tubs from carpet rolls because a decade ago i figured they'd be good supports in a fiberglass speaker box.

Never built the box. Have no real car audio. Can go buy the fucking tubes for 20 bucks off amazon. Still pissed. There were like 20 of them. 400 bucks in cardboard tubes in the trash.

It's like an addiction but its incurable. 8 years ago i moved house and knew all of my belongings were perfectly safe. The new house was spotless. I felt empty and board until i drug a bunch of shit out and packed a stor storage shed with junk to play with...

Started cleaning the garage just to fit these tool cabinets and quickly ran out of room in the garbage bins. Didn’t even realize how cluttered it was getting in there. Er, more like I was just pretending it wasn’t as bad as it is. Still tons of useless shit to go through and throw away, but it’s progress.
