Question for welders better then I. I can stick, oxy/ace, and fluxcore weld but need to fix some welds in thin aluminum tube on a camper. I don't have a setup for aluminum so want to know if I can braze aluminium with bronze rod? The joints are basic Ts and Ls with rectangular tube. I was considering brazing some steel right angle brackets on for added strength.

Thoughts and suggestions welcome.

Bronze rods have a much higher melting point than aluminum, but there are brazing rods and flux for aluminum brazing

Fucking aluminum. I'll have to find some of those al brazing rods. Is the process the same as bronze rod and steel but with lower heat?

Can't. :( Never worked with aluminum so no idea how it acts when heated hence the questions.

Don't they make aluminum brazing rods for just this sort of thing?

I see them whenever I go to the welding section at Harbor Freight but since I have an AC capable TIG torch I've never felt the need to try them.
