I have the same table, and it's like an insert so you can change parts out if needed depending on the job. They're really good, although the router it comes with is a fucking beast.

how do you like the tormach? I've outgrown my chinesium 6040 but I'm not sure I want to put down the cash for a basic bitch haas, but I've heard horror stories about tormachs being out of square and skipping steps and all kinds of fuckery.

Mine is a mess, in the middle and resetting it up. I live in an apartment so its just the spare 2nd bedroom. Also for some reason I bought a cubicle for $5 from our last auction at work. I kept the desk which is 9 desk tops (-1 because I needed the screw hole mount things for a longer desk top the i ripped out of a shorter desk top). Still got 2 drawer sets to clean and put back together and 5 or 6 drawers that mount under the desks to clean.

Every time I see an old dresser on garbage night, I want to stop by with an impact driver and remove a couple drawers and the rails they roll on. I figure I could repurpose the hardware and make a custom sized wide drawer for under the workbench. Not sure what I would keep in there, but random drawers and storage always seem to fill themselves up.

Even if you just take the rails, build your own drawers to fit your workbench.

I think a plain ol screwdriver would me more than adequate..

Also never seen a dresser with anything more than wood on wood rails, kind of silly to bother removing them, just take the drawers if they are solid wood and good construction and move on.

>wood on wood
Maybe a desk. I actually wanted a couple small bits of wood a couple years ago and saw a desk by the street and snagged 2 drawers. I tossed the rails on those, but next time I’ll grab two drawers and then unscrew the rails from the inside.

I could make it easy by taking an existing drawer, but I’m thinking about doing a shallow one the whole width of the little cubby hole area under the workbench. It’s probably like 24”, so I could build a drawer maybe 2” or 3” deep for random small shit. Other idea was a flat worktop that slides out but that would take some beefy hardware to remain stable when it’s all the way extended.
