ok back from the dead
knife making general is where you ask your stupid beginnger questions, show of your solutions for problems that irked you, your rigs, sanders, techniques tools, all you have show your knifes unfinished and finished project
or anything that has a blade and cuts in some way, get advice and ask for tipps how to get better.

folder folds.

walnut wood, brass for the metal parts and pin,
springsteel for the blade,
it's actualy a forged blade.
i sanded it to 600 grind before polish, would not go higher because it was hard to open at the start.

sup lads,
been making knives with files and found a CM 6x9 disc combo on craigslist for $50. Specs on Harbor Freight say it's a 1HP motor at 1800RPM. Is this worth picking up based on the price alone?

heres the latest one i made, and a couple to show its progression. i managed to do this one without a drill press. just an angle, bench, and disc grinder. lots of filing, sanding, and polishing. est time: 30 some hours. all riveted 10 rivets total. the hidden one is about 3/16 of an inch behind the pivot pin. scales are aluminum, front bolster is brass. a stainless pivot pin. blade is a tool steel. liners are spring steel. been using this at work for a while and its held up great, aside from a few scratches

its extremely hard for me to get started on a new knife because i draw like a kindergartener with multiple sclerosis, and work has been taking all my energy. running a service truck in the field away from my shop for the next few months which is really fucking depressing, so this will be the last one i get to make for a while. oh well.
