I have several large imax posters i wanted to frame does anyone know a way to do this without a wood shop or spending over 100 dollars

i doubt you could build a glass/plexi + frame for one poster in your budget especially with no tools.
buying new is also unlikely.

possibly if you got a sheet of plexi and screwed it to the wall sandwiching the poster in there might work but would be ugly as fuck.

probably second hand is your best bet, some shitty art nobody wants you might get lucky with the size or ask at the cinema where they get frames, definitely a specialist thing.

if you want to ruin the poster just paste it straight to the wall. you can even glue some molding around it as a frame

Basically every outdoor ad ( BTL they call it) workshop would have aluminium profiles, that are for top and bottom edge of poster. I do not know prices in ur country, but in Poland it is not pricey.
