I made a backpack speaker from an old surround setup. Built the speaker from wood and vinyl wrapped it with carbon fiber. Bought an amp from ebay:

Got a USB RGB led strip and added a custom circuit to the controller to make it change color to the beat.

What kind of battery are you using? Pic related, I've also been putting together a portable speaker.

Pretty old case. Nice exept the fragile mounted and not protected speakers ..

What do you mean by fragile mounted? If you're talking about the stiffness of the suitcase, I got around that by making a separate plywood cabinet inside the case. As for the unprotected speakers, I'm just a sucker for aesthetics and didn't want to hide the pretty looking vintage speakers
