I work for a railroad and my route has me staring I to morning and evening sun often. Recommend welding sunglasses or shade number, that will protect against sun and glare, but still allow me to see the tracks and signals?

Pick one. Welding is a fuckton brighter than looking at the evening sun. You can't see shit looking through them even when its bright out.

Something like a shade 3 or 5 Brazing/cutting glass?

Why not polarized sunglasses with a visor? Glare is mostly vertically polarized, so filtering it out specifically is more effective for seeing than blocking out light indiscriminately like a welding shade would.

do a lot of welders not use auto-darkening lenses?

>>1483357
...why not use those things called 'sunglasses'?

why jump directly to welders lenses?

Not only that but blue/UV-blockers (non chink type) and polarization not only helps acuity but also cuts the stuff that damages your eyeballs.
I drive into the sun every frigging day. Picked up a set of driving glasses.
not shilling, zenni wasn't around when I got mine. But this is similar.

If anything ever happened, the liability would all fall on you if you were seen wearing them just before the event.

N E M E S I S !

Spent 25 years looking for comfy saftey glasses. Nemesis looks good and doubles as legitimate safety glasses. Get online or go buy a pair right now and you wont regret it. I got a fat head and new ones give me a headache for a day or two. So i just preemptively eat a fist full of advil and were them intermittently the first 2 or 3 days

Exactly... Unfortunately work changed locations and that made it so i have to drive into the fucking sun several months out of the year. Fortunately I can move my shift around so at least the sun is high enough to block.
