Post you’re Knipex and I’ll tell you they’re shit because they don’t pivot. Post your Kleins and Ill tell you they’re shit because they’re not Knipex.

I need to lose some of my cheap old pliers so I can justify spending $500 on Knipex or Klein. I found a shitty set abandoned in an old pickup at work one day and now they’re taking up space in my toolbox.

>Slip Joint Pliers
Does anybody actually ever use these for anything? I can’t think of a single job where I would rather have slip joints instead of another tool.

That’s what fappin is for. The Crescent linesman’s pliers with the same pivot joint are incredible, they grip so much tighter than any other pliers I have owned.

It’s probably a little unnecessary for those snips since you aren’t supposed to cut wire thicker than like 10ga with them. Should get through those stubborn single strands like butter though.

DeWalt has compount action pliers too but I wasn’t a fan of how they felt. Not as robust as the Apex brand pivot joint design.

And I think anon’s pic is a nigger rigged slide hammer or dent puller.

>>1467995
I’ll use channel lock type pliers for plumbing and linesman’s or needle nose for the other stuff.

I'm a mechanic I use slip joint pliers all the time. Turning tie rods, loosen blenders rusted away to nubs, squeezing shit, twisting hoses without smashing pipes they're on. Most used pliers I have are slip joint pliers. I wear them out.

Useless for holding things tight, but great for pulling 14/2 wire through insulation filled holes in the wall. That and hard to reach hose clamps in my truck (not the nut driver kind).

The government subsidizes a lot of uneconomic things, especially recycling.
Like paying $50 for a scrapped 'radiator' vs the actual scrap metal price.

Hording is always crazy. Some people think "this is valuable" and they sit on it their whole life. Value comes from sales, not from sitting.

I have an 8 acre salvage yard. Dismantle 50 to 100 cars a week. More than double my money on each car.
I get people all the time telling me how I should run my business. "OMG that fender was worth $50 and you crushed it" Sitting on shit hoping someone will come along and buy it is insane.
Sam Walton didn't make billions, by doing what Sears did. You gotta keep it moving.

government doesn't subsidize scrap radiators.
A "core" charge for your old radiator, has nothing to do with government.

the nice junkyards that keep rows and rows of old vehicles so you can get "that" part from 20 years ago amaze me. I believe that most of them don't make any profit at all, but are owned by cool guys who just like to help other guys out. However I do see your point of view, if you are in it to make money, maximize your profits.
