Former professional industrial tool salesman here. I have a LOT of Milwaukee Electric tools. ME is superb and I envy your impact that you can keep in the trunk of your car. Also, brusheless cordless drill...fugyes! open up the wallet and pay a few more bucks, so nice how it has big torque at low RPM, the advantage of a brushless, of course.

But at that point, at least you can sleep well because you know that you exhausted all the options along the lines of “MOAR POWER!” and it’s time for a new one.

Along those lines, I stopped by Northern tool and grabbed the set on the left today because they have been on clearance for some time. I couldn’t resist the deal. The set on the right was only $20 or $25 and the one on the left in lugnut sizes was $15. That’s a steal for these things and they actually grip pretty well. Made it Taiwan too. Go price out the same thing from Irwin or Craftsman and that silver set would be $60+.

They were tucked away by the air tools and impact sockets. I have a feeling if they had them by the regular hand tools and sockets, the sets would’ve sold out long ago.

Had one for a couple of months.
I've used it even more than I expected to.
Changing ATV wheels
Changing wheels/tires on three utility trailers
Roadside (flat) tire changes for friends twice.
Used last Thursday to replace the lower ball-joint on my '98 Toyota 4Runner.
Used it today during an oil change on same 4Runner because it made it so easy to pull the skid plates. (did NOT use on oil pan plug)
During the oil change I checked the ball-joint on the other side and I'm going to use it this coming week to change that one too.
A couple of weeks back, my son was having trouble with a bolt on one of his Toyota 4WD pickups.
I offered the impact and he put a combination wrench on the nut on the back and had me put the impact on the bolt head which was more accessible.
When he was ready he said, "Hit it!"
I did and felt really bad because he'd had that wrench for >30 years. (it broke)

Learn the difference between work and torque metric fag.

Although they are dimensionally equivalent, energy (a scalar) and torque (a vector) are distinct physical quantities. Both energy and torque can be expressed as a product of a force vector with a displacement vector (hence pounds and feet); energy is the scalar product of the two, and torque is the vector product.

I gave my grandson a $400 Milwaukee package of tools for graduation. (he already had an apprenticeship promised as electrician)
About a year later he had problems with one of the batteries not charging properly.
He took it to the local warranty rep who looked it over, tested it and handed him a new one across the counter - free.
I'm not worried...

I got that impact wrench when my driveshaft bolts weren't coming out, and we've used it so much at this point. My friend accidentally snapped a few aging axle bolts putting a wheel back on (yeah we knew that was the wrong way but whatever, paid the price).

I have like 10 Milwaukee power tools and this one is one of my fav. Downside is due to weight, if we're hitting a junkyard or something we leave it in the car and come back and get it only if needed.

This always confused me... if the batteries are all the same voltage, why so the bigger ones work better? More cells = more amps?

>> No.1433483

>>1433405
the voltage is the same but there is a difference in power output between battery sizes, its not always noticeable depending on the tool but can make a difference on high demand power equipment like miter saws and weed whackers.

Milwaukee's new 6.0 and 12.0 "High Output" batteries are specifically designed to put out that higher amperage all the time to provide maximum power to tools, their newer tools like the table saw, chainsaw and super sawzall are smart enough to know what kind of battery you are using and increase their power with bigger batteries onboard.

you know those are based on Milwaukee's old M28 Impact Wrench? its actually a pretty dated design, the massive torque is entirely due to that massive gearbox.
