I built this with shit laying around.

Charges my phone, works and stuff.

Adding a few more features to it, like a better PWM and an actual cigarette lighter for when innawoods.

Eventually will be mounted on the side rack of a dual sport, and used for powering laptops and other photography needs when out riding/camping.

Want to make the penetrations in the side more water proof without having to resort to silicone.

Ideas?

It's been a while since I looked into this. Are solar panels still a shit tier pipe dream technology?

Like my mom.
I snatched these panels up from work last year. They've been sitting in a cabinet. What's better than dirt cheap? Free.

For a system with a tiny battery for smoothing & load handling and a wind turbine or two for picking up some slack, they are great. For a system with a big battery array, that is the main workhorse, they are shit due to batteries being so shit at power density.
