What's type of glue should I use for this balcony door handle?

Is there any chance it could last?

>> No.1318663

Epoxy might work, otherwise use Loctite All Plastics

Plastic is a pain in the ass to fix.
Best option is to replace it, if you cant then epoxy the shit out of it.

You are lucky it's hard plastic so even superglue will work but epoxy should be best.

Make a sand cast of the part and than cast it in aluminium in your back yard.

I've used "J-B Weld Plastic Bonder Structural Adhesive Syringe" on several problems just like pictured and it's great.

yeah these things take a lot of force, when glued they rebreak very quickly

find the brand name, etc. they probably sell parts for these, try looking in the locks/handles section of home depot/lowes and the door area. LOOK EVERYWHERE UP AND DOWN. shit like this ends up being stored in some unlikely place.

Guess no one's ever heard of Plasic Welding? You may be able to fix it that way using a soldering iron. I've fixed many cracked plastic housings on chainsaws etc using that method

plastic weld it. use a zip tie or two as extra material like the sticks in welding

It'll be ugly as shit, especially if it's anon's first time trying it or it's a shitty kind of plastic for it, but that's already a butt-ugly door handle anyway.

If it were me, I'd replace it with a knob off a dresser or something.

Gorilla Glue. not a meme, but it is about the only glue that worked for the plastic they use in cars.
Depends on the type of plastic. I used to have some very thin solvent like glue used for model aircraft. It used capillary action to get into the joint then fuse the plastic like it was solid. Havenn't seen it in years.

Model cement is pretty thin and is meant for common cheap plastic.

Epoxy might be your best bet. Plastic is vey hard to glue, especially oily ones and PP/PE

Acetone?

it's a great question as there are many types of plastic and you wouldn't know which you have there and which glue would work best.
You best option is to replace it. Handles cost a few bucks. Find something similar at the store and be sure to line up the holes to check that it's a goo replacement.

Ask anyone you know in the building industry, i had a painter mate hook me up the other day with some handles that another mate of his had spare from a job
