That's what I was thinking. I followed online instructions for drawing a spur gear and just arrayed the tooth forms inwards instead of outwards and that's what I got. I can't actually find instructions specifically for internal gears.

At near the bottom center there is a twist, it is wrong.

On the right outter ring, the foreground should over take, but in this drawing, the background of the ring does.
